If you are a gym that only has a power rack or bench presses, where are you *supposed* to deadlift? I usually take the supports out of the power rack and do them there. If there is no where else to do deadlifts, yes, people who want to squat have to wait their turn.0

I do squats, good mornings, and deadlifts in order in that. If you aren't supposed to have something supporting the bar while you load the weights and then move it back to the ground for deadlifts, someone please tell me how you are loading the bar on the ground? It seems inefficient.0

How would you use a power cage for a bench press? You have to lie down for those. People get really creative when they want to use something the wrong way...
You slide the bench in. I do this often, when I don't have a spotter.

I'm sorry, I'm still lifting fairly light, and have difficulty putting 45s on with one hand since I lift a lot more with my legs than with my biceps. So I guess I should say that it is more efficient for me.

Basically quit whining. If someone is using the equipment you want, ask to work in, wait your turn, find a bigger gym, go at a less busy time or work out at home.

At the gym I was going to where I worked and it was free? Yes. We had dumbbells, smith press and a cage. Pre-loaded bars, really? You've never seen those? Bars that have the weight already on them and they're on a rack?

Apparently I've been doing my squats in a power cage and my deadlifts from a squat rack. To be fair though, the one at my gym seems designed for that purpose. It has a set of hooks on the front (short part) of the rack that are maybe 18 inches from the ground. It's an easy place to load your weights, then lift and take one small step back to do deadlifts.
I tried using the squat rack for squats once (when the power cage was already in use), but the rack is built as one piece and the supports in the front are too tall. I hit the bars before I reached the bottom of my squat.0 -

Load the bar on the front "shelf" and take a step forward or backwards depending on which way you are standing. My gym is in downtown, so it is "space economical" (read small) there two flat bench press setups, one incline/decline, a power cage, and a squat rack. I usually do both my squats and deadlifts on the squat rack, because it's convenient. And as I said before, I hate loading the bar on the ground. I will if I have to, but prefer not to. However, luckily, everyone is so busy curling, they don't notice my 10 min in the squat rack.0 -

Actually my regular gym has a power lifting pad where I deadlift. But yes, one of the gyms I've been didn't have any besides the one in the one squat rack, and the two on the bench press. I deadlifted in the squat rack. But the only other people there were 70 year olds NOT doing squats are deads.0 -

Maybe talk to them about setting up an obvious deadlift area (basically all you need is a bar on the ground that is loaded with 45lbs plates, making it obvious that it's there for deadlifts).0
