I realy want to get up in the morning and work out but find myself hitting the snooze button. I am looking for friends that I can post with in the morning to hold me accontable untill it becomes habit. If there is already a group like this please count me in. I am in Utah, I think as long as we check in with one another in the morning it would be great. I have mfp open on my computer most the day. I log on first thing when I arrive at work to plan my food for the day. Mountain time around 8:30 am

There are days I would like to get up and work out in the morning but like nhendri I hit the snooze button. I can't even get up at 6 just to get ready for the day. Tomorrow I'm going to try to get up early so I can work out and have time to take a shower and all that good stuff because it's weigh in day for the biggest loser and I want to lose this week!! I'm thinking I'll have to get up at 5 (central) to work out and then have time to take a shower and everything :grumble: I don't know if I'll always work out in the morning but who knows, maybe I'll like it and keep doing it.

I'll check in tomorrow when I get to work to let you know how the work out went and if I lost anything for the competition!

    Good luck to you all!!

Sorry guys I didn't get up to work out this morning :grumble:

Softball game started at 7:45pm last night and at 9:30 the game was suspended becase we're in a tie in extra innings. Didn't get home until late AGAIN. I need my sleep...I've been sooo tired lately so I decided to not try this morning, couldn't get out of bed until 20 to 7, 40 minutes after my alarm started going off :grumble: Maybe tomorrow...no one will be home except my brother so no one should ask questions which might help.

Did any one manage to get up this morning for a work out??

I got up and did a little bit of yoga. Its not what I wanted to do. I also was up late. I taught swim lessons untill nine and then faught with my daughter to sleep in her own bed untill midnight. We will get this even if we take baby steps and get up ten minutes early every morning and do something small. I asked a coworker to walk with me first break to encourage me to get some more cardio in for the morning.

Way to go on at least doing something this morning. I had to feed my aunt and uncle's fish on my way to work so I had to make sure I did that. And then on top of it I had to stop at my grandma's to pick up some lunch for work. I usually walk with my mom at work but she has today and tomorrow off. I'll plan on walking to my aunt and uncle's tonight to feed the fish and walking with my dog. I plan on going to bed early tonight so I can hopefully get up in the morning for a work out.

I won't be able to post up in the mornings because I get up with just enough time to throw my clothes on and leave the house. I signed up for a boot camp class that meets every morning at 5:30 am. They are 4 weeks long and I'm on my second 4 weeks and LOVING it! I'm motivated to get up for a few reasons. 1) I've paid for the class so I don't want to waste money 2) I know others are getting up to go, so I should too 3) we get to pay less if we make 80% of the classes we signed up for when we sign up for another 4 week session 4) Hubby and baby are still asleep and I get to come home after work and spend all my time doting on them instead of feeling obligated to workout.

I thought I would share with you some of the advantages of working out in the morning:

    - You're done! None of that feeling obligated or forcing yourself to the gym after a long day at work, school etc, because you still have to work out. Plus, if you do feel like working out again at night, that's just an extra added bonus

    - I am amazed at how much more energy I have during the day, even though I'm getting up at the butt crack of dawn. No more mid-afternoon slumps (that may have something to do with my diet also)

    - Your metabolism kicks in and runs all day long. I find I'm less hungry/snacky after a good hard morning workout. (This could be just a personal thing)

I'm all for morning workouts. My main motivation is just being able to spend time with my family after working 10 hours.

    Hope this helps.

    Amy B.

Thank you for sharing. I am going to right that down and keep it on my bed side table and look at it every night before I go to bed. I know that I will love it I just need to make it a habit. I was doing so good working out in the evening but sumer time is hard. Thanks again We can do this!!

I'm also a morning exerciser, and have been since we got a dog. I know not everyone has a dog, but they let you know when they want to go out for their walk. I do hit my snooze button, but only let myself do that once. When that alarm goes off for the second time, that dog is in my face ready to go. After I give her a 15-20 min. walk, then I work out for 30 - 60 min. I am in the central zone, and get up at 5am, but wouldn't be able to post until later in the day. I am like Amy B., but I'm not bootcamping-well maybe sometimes in my basement or outside, I get my exercise done / eat / shower/ out the door. Amy B. is right, you don't have to worry that you need to get a workout in later that day. Another bonus is if you have the time later in the day, get in a stretch or yoga.

I want to join the Breakfast Club! I know that this will be the only way to achieve my goals because I have tried to do the after work workout and it doesn't work for a long period of time. I will report after my first morning of waking up and exercisings. Good luck!

UGH!!! I set my alarm for 5:45 this morning and thought I would have time to get up, work out on the Active and get ready. Well I kept snoozing the alarm and didn't get up until 6:40 :grumble: I barely left in time to stop at my aunt and uncle's to feed their fish. But then...I forgot my phone and turned around to get my phone. Luckily I wasn't very far into my drive. I just squeaked into work on time. I really wanted to get up and work out this morning so I wouldn't have so much to do when I get home tonight because I didn't enjoy getting home last night, working out on the Active and then walking the dog to my aunt and uncle's to feed the fish and then have just a little bit of time at home before I went to my grandparents for dinner. I am soooo frustrated with myself!!!

Morning workout done. I am on day 5 of the 30 Day Shred and loving it. I also did a 25 min. run on my treadmill, because it was raining out. Along with the walk with my dog of 20 min. I am going to be very busy tonight, so it is nice to know I'm done for the day.

AmyT88 - Try again tomorrow (but it is Saturday, so you might be like me and sleep in:blushing: ), once you get up and get going it will get easier. Sometimes I even wake up before that alarm goes off.

I woke up this morining and instead of hitting snooze I forced my self to get up:happy: I warmed up and jogged for ten minute and did a ten minute cool down worked on abbs and did a wonderfull stretch. I feel fantastic:smile:

AmyT88: Dont get frustrated. When ever we make a change it takes time to realy get in the habit. I know you can do this.

Ivnascar: I love 30 day shred I did it several months ago and couldnt get enough!! Im thinking of doing it again!!

Thanks for the movtivational words :flowerforyou: My plan is to work out in the mornings on Wednesdays and Fridays right now. I have softball on Wednesday nights during summer so when I get home I'm either tired or it's too late to do any more working out. Fridays during the summer I generally go to my boyfriend's house (not tonight though) so I don't get a chance to work out afterwork. I am going to work out tomorrow morning, it just won't be so early. I'll still be getting up earlier than usual for a Saturday since I told my boyfriend I would be to his house at 11 so we can go get some race boots for him at a racing store that closes at 12 on Saturdays. I'm planning to stick with this for a while until I know I can get up early those 2 days all the time. Once school starts my schedule changes a bit so I'm not sure what I'll be doing then. But I do know I want to try to get workouts in during the morning because when I get home from school and work I really don't want to do anything and more than likely I'll have homework to do at night. I really want to make working out in the morning my thing. I don't mind taking a walk at night or doing more if I feel like it but I for sure want to get at least one work out in the morning.

You guys are so great at not letting me get discouraged right away! :flowerforyou: I'll let everyone know how tomorrow's morning work out goes for me

Hope everyone is having a great day and has a great night! Happy Friday :drinker: :drinker:

Good mornin all! Today I did hit the snooze button but only once. I was able to get in 15 minutes of fast paced walking with arm workouts. Felt good not what I wanted to do but some is def. better the none. I figure every week Ill wake you 5-10 earlier, work into the habit so far its working and Im very excited. I encourage you to try the same if you are struggling. Good Luck

Morning, With my schedule on the weekend, I'm not able to post all that often. I did manage to get my workouts in, and this morning I was very tired. Saturday and Sunday where day 6&7 of the 30 Day Shred #1. This morning was day 8 and a 25 min. run. But now I'm done.

nhendri, That is a great idea on getting up just a bit earlier each week. I think it takes 21 days for your body to adjust and make a habit happen. Or something like that.

Well I got up plenty early on Saturday to do something but ended up being lazy and not doing anything :grumble:

Didn't do anything Sunday either except cleaning :grumble:

I plan to get back to working out tonight after work before I start cleaning again. Wednesday I'm planning on getting up early to do a work out before work. I'll be going to bed early Tuesday night so I can be sure to get up early.

nhendri that is a great idea about geting up just a little bit earlier each week. You're right, something is better than nothing. Keep up the good work!

lvnascar great job on great job on getting your work out in this morning!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

    Morning everyone,

Only one more day of Level 1 Shred, then it is on to the next level. I also added on 30 min of kickboxing. Went to bed last night at 9pm, and ended up looking at my alarm before it went off. Might not be able to post tomorrow, because of jury duty. I will try to get on when I get home, but I might have a teenager on the computer. :ohwell:

I did it! I woke up and did a p90x dvd for Cardio Synergistics! I only did 35 mins of a 57 minute video but I am happy to report that I woke up and worked out and felt great! I had enough time to make breakfast, take a shower, and get to work on time. I will be doing this again tomorrow

Celestia great job!! I'm glad you got 35 minutes of the video in rather than none!! Keep it up!

nhendri I'm glad you made it to work on time. Don't you just hate when you hit the wrong button on your alarm  I know it annoys the heck out of me and I have no one to be annoyed with except myself. I'm sure you'll be getting back at it tomorrow no problem!

Another day of up and at 'em! I got up early and did 20 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training! I am proud! This is so new to me and I really enjoy the energy I get. I'm a classic nightowl and I'm so used to sleeping till the last possible minute...but waking up early to exercise makes me feel happy about myself!!!

Well just like all thing govt, I don't have to go the the courthouse until the afternoon. And of course it will be sit and wait, because they are probably picking the jury.

Was hard getting up this morning, but my last day of Level 1 30 Day Shred is in the can, and I also added a 25 min. run on my TM because it was raining outside. This gave me the chance to look at Level 2 again, because it had been a while since I had tried this workout. It is going to be a good one tomorrow.

WTG Celestia and AmyT on getting those workouts done.

nhendri - Tomorrow is another day, and of course a weekday alarm! Have a great time with the Shred, I am surprised that I'm am actually doing the same workout for 10 days straight.

Got up this morning ready to workout. Level 2 of the Shred done, and 25 min of kickboxing with 1lb weighted gloves. My shoulders and core are sore this morning.

How is everyone doing this morning, did we all get up and workout?

Gosh it makes me feel good to know that someone is proud of me for getting up early to do my workout!!

Tomorrow is the next day I've planned to get up to do a work out since I'm going to my boyfriend's house after work. I'm feeling really tired tonight so I think I should get my butt moving if I'm going to do a work out tonight yet before bed.

lvnascar great job on the work out this morning. You're such a source of motivation for me with this getting up early thing. Keep it up!

nhendri I'm glad that your alarm clock was set correctly yesterday!! Hearing that it helped you wake up and feel good really makes me want to do this even more! How did you do this morning?

Celestia I'm glad waking up early makes you feel happy about yourself. That's always a great feeling!! How did you do today??

I'm off to do a work out before showering and going to bed to get up early tomorrow. Night!

I did it!! I got up and did a 15 minute strength training work out with my exercise ball. I'm feeling the burn in my abs now...and my arms!! TGIF!!! It's raining today so I probably won't get a walk in a work (we can't risk getting soaked). I've got it planned with my boyfriend though to take a walk tonight so I can get some cardio in.

I hope everyone has a great Friday!!
