Lost my keyless car key while running

Hi Everyone,

I ran on Wednesday on a trail that I took my Nissan Murano to get to and it has a keyfob entry with one of those push button starts. I didn't have any pockets so I laced the top of my keyfob through my shoe and then ran 3 miles. I finished and looked down and the keyfob was gone. I searched for it for 2 hours and couldn't find it. I want to run today too but I don't want to lose my only remaining keyfob or leave my car unlocked. (I like to run on a trail over lunch and I have to drive to get there.) What do you do with your keys when you are running? I know some of the races have key checks but not all of them. Any ideas?

    Tie it into your laces
Use the sewn-in pocket inside your run shorts

Hide your key on or near your car

    buy a Spibelt

Get a shoe pocket that attaches to your laces

    Put it in your bra
Run with it in your hand
Buy shorts that have a pocket

I second the SPIbelt. Not a dorky fanny pack at all lol. They have lots of colors and different styles to choose from.

Looks like you've got long hair, which I imagine you pull back while running. Just use an extra hair tye and loop the key into the underside of your ponytail. Or tuck it into your bra, or get a wrist/arm/ankle band that has a small pocket to hold it.

I have my key on a small carabiner and i hook it onto one of my bra straps. Doesn't bother me while running and it would take me doing some crazy cartwheels or something for it to ever have the chance of coming unhooked & falling off! :)

I have one of those repelling hooks on my key ring. (They have small ones too) I hook it to my bra or shorts.

LOL- Duct tape it to my arm!

I did have it laced through my shoe string when I ran. I ran the same way on Sunday at the LAKC 5K and it was fine, but then lost it Wednesday.

Does it work with a very special gold watch too?

just think of the work out you will get pushing the Nissan down the trail, just have someone sit in the drivers seat and keep pushing start, when it starts, you are close and you can find it

I run with mine in my hand. I take the keys off and leave them in the console and loop the keyring around my finger. I was worried about this was well.
