"I wouldn't really consider what I said religion... more philosophy. The original post said she "prayed to God" that it wasn't true. So I said "IF" you believe the Bible (as many people who pray to God do), it says this. Just trying to be educational. And I'm always willing to discuss my personal faith, which is why I made the offer IF she or anyone wanted to... but I understand the message boards here aren't for that purpose."

Point well taken. Your response was more philisophical than religious. Your post was not the one that prompted my comment.

I might be reading the rules wrong but it says topics of religion. No one started a topic. Some people answered that they look to their faith. Others anwered differently. There really had not been a discussion of religion happening.

Somehow I messed up the quotes. must be time for lunch

In half of our family, we do Christmas on Jan 1. That way we can do the sales. In flush years, you get more gifts for the same price. In lean years, at least you get a gift. lol

I never mail my parents X-Mas gifts until after Christmas. If they ever got my package before Christmas, they would know the end of the world was coming!

Not wanting to start a big fuss, but I must comment on the "no religion" theme brought up on this thread. Why do people get so defensive and worried / upset about hearing from the Bible, but are so willing to accept and listen to ideas about Mayan culture, Nostradamus , and other nonsensical websites? Why are Christian beliefs not welcome, but others are?

Yeah... that's where the Mayans calendar ended... but come on... they had to stop at SOME point. If you believe the Bible, you believe Matt 24:36 that "NO ONE knows the day or the hour" and Luke 12:40 that Jesus will come at an hour "you do not expect". So that pretty much guarantees He WON'T come 12-21-2012, meaning the world will either end before then or after then, but no... it won't end Dec 21, 2012.

But I gotta say... I'm ready no matter when the world ends and it doesn't scare me in the least. If you'd be interesting in talking about why I feel that way and studying together, let me know! :flowerforyou:

    Amen Sista!
