People like this make me hate America. I mean, I don't hate America but this kind of crap sure makes us look like petty idiots.
It's not even the fact that he is a shameless fat *kitten*, it is the sense of entitlement that people have and the common practice of taking advantage of cheap crap to such an extreme.
I'm going to punch the next person I see eating any sort of fish as a rage outlet from this link. Sorry, fish people blame this guy.0 -
I lived near a KFC in Oakland once on a "free fried chicken" day. That was a scene to remember.0

   I could only imagine. Wasn't that when Opera bought chicken for America lol0 -
wow, just wow...0

OK maybe the guy is a gluttonous slob, but if it's "all you can eat" then it better damn well be all you can eat. I'm sure there are plenty of people who only get one or two pieces of fish that don't demand a partial refund for not eating much. So the restaurant needs to suck it up and keep the fish coming until the guy slips into a fish coma if he wants to.0

They should refuse him service just for being a douche.0

^ ^ ^ ^ fish coma..lol..But, I agree!! Don't advertise what you aren't willing to give. Hey, that works in MANY areas of life..0 -
All you can eat means all you can eat.
It doesn't mean, you eat a lot and then we tell you no more.
Are you guys seriously saying this guy is a douche because he was pissed that the "all you can eat" fish was not "all you can eat"? The restaurant cut him off, despite their "all you can eat" advertisement. If I am going to a buffet, they better not cut me off at 2 plates, I don't care how fat or gluttonous that makes me. It is all you can eat, and he has a right to be pissed.0 -

Oh wow. And we wonder why no one in the world respects us.0
-
That makes me sick. I have to wonder why they even let him in, if he has an unpaid tab?0
-
If it advertises "all you can eat", then it should give all you can eat. Plain and simple.0

If you look at the video the restaurant mentioned he hadn't paid his bill and that he was sharing with a friend which was not allowed. He was a regular customer and couldn't always afford to eat there. They were the nice ones allowing him to eat even though he couldn't always pay. Then as thanks, he pickets the restaurant. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a marketing technique for the restaurant though since he kept saying how great the food was.0
-
I am sorry but I don't see how his weight has anything to do with the restaurant's false advertisement?
If a slim guy was kicked out and protested, would you say he is a 'douche'?!
If a person pays for an item/service/food that person enters into a legal contract with the provider of said item/service/food. If the provider does not provide what was promised for the payment made then they are in fault and breech of contract. It is only normal for the guy to protest!0 -

They said on the Phoenix news tonight that the guy was cut off because he had run up a huge tab from eating there a lot and had refused to pay the bill so they cut him off.. who knows? I've seen some ppl really eat a lot at "all you can eat" and I was hugely overweight and some of the skinny ones would shock the heck out of me!0 -
come on people look at the video, it is not cut and dry. This is stupid to get in fights over. He had a tab at the resaurant because many times he couldn't pay and he was feeding his friend when his friend did not order the all you can eat. I think the restaurant did this to get some publicity and the guy is obviously not so smart. haha.0

I think it calls into question the whole concept of 'all you can eat'. Is that not just the epitome of society's problem? That we feel such a sense of entitlement that because it is advertised as all you can eat, it then suddenly turns into some sort of challenge - not all you can eat, but how much CAN you physically eat.
Look at America... it's hardly the beacon of health and longevity - and yet people still subscribe to the American dream ideology.
Come on.. REALLY? There are people in the world with no food - why should one guy picket just because he WANTS to stuff his face with fried fish. Not only have we fished the oceans to the brink of collapse... but humans are literally killing themselves with this senseless crap they're eating.
Stuff like this makes me mad... just eat in moderation and don't buy into every gimmick the food industry or hospitality industry throws your way. The guy is a heart attack/stroke waiting to happen - all you can eat junk is turning into all you can take medical care.0 -
And if he gets heart problems no doubt he will sue the restaurant for serving him too much fattie food.0

Welcome to our modern world - where it's always somebody else's fault...0 -
Reading the article it didn't seem like an excessive amount of food - 12 pieces plus 8 to go?
20 pieces total - not a big deal.
Depends on the size of the fish, which isn't given.
But anywho - I was in America in April and we went to a few buffets in LA and they all had clear printed signs basically saying 'no spending the whole day in here'
Now THAT would be cheeky - paying for one meal and eating all 3 there.
Nothing wrong with being a 'pig' at a buffet - you're supposed to leave feeling a bit sick :bigsmile:0 -
iam sure the real reason he got the boot is because of not paying his bills there0
-
Oh dear.... Its hard to believe this is true - they must have played yet another re-run of the Simpsons.
It sound like the real issue is not how much fish he ate, but the fact that he had an outstanding bill - I think the restaurant were quite within their rights - "no pay, no eat"!0 -

I agree with you there... if they can't handle being an all you can eat place, then perhaps they should change their business strategy.0 -
I say if he forks over the money he owes for past meals then they should fork over the food. That being said, it makes me cringe to think of eating all that greasy, fried fish and pizza..too much fat and cholesterol  . I hope he can find healthier foods (and better exercise than picketing) for his own good....0

The one thing that really pisses me off about all you can eat, or buffet style restaurants is the wasting of food. It makes me sick to see someone fill a plate with ****, eat 1/4 of it, and then go up for something else. Food is something we take for granted, and we shouldn't.
On the rare occasion I step foot into one of these restaurants, I'll go up to the buffett 5 or 6 times. But each time I go I've got more empty space on my plate than I do food. Just to make sure I do not take more than i can eat.0 -

I agree with this 100%. Whether it's healthy or not is not the issue. "All you can eat" implies unlimited consumption.0 -

Lionel Hutz: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man whose had ALL he could eat?0
