Now I hate you, LOL...Just kidding. I was always in the kiddie section, always the tiniest then at 32, went up to a 12 now I'm finally back to a size 9...I still have my size 26 jeans in a garbage bag....But really glad to see your hard work paid off...It's also good that you said it took a year because some who want those results think it happens in a few months. Nice job....

Awesome for you! I discovered that I'm that girl too recently - the same way. On vacation with my husband, I tried on a pair of carpis and peeked out of the dressing room, looking for my guy and the sales lady asked if I needed a different size. I probably had the silliest grin on my face when I told her I needed a smaller one. Then I totally looked at myself in the mirror and did a little silent happy scream.

As much as I love looking at before & after pics, I love reading stories like this, too.

    CONGRATS!

    Nice!

(Slightly on-topic: When I slim down, I don't want to become a completely shallow (pardon the expression) d-bag that looks down on others just because they aren't in shape, etc. I want to find that balance between admitting looks matter to a degree but also recognizing the importance of treating everyone -especially overweight people w/ low self-esteem - w/ dignity.)

    This. I hope I don't become some shallow c*nt.

    That's awesome, good for you!!!

I know that thanks to my hips and children its physically impossible for me to be a 3/4 but I am excited to be able to shop for clothes that actually fit right!!

I was out shopping for some clothes yesterday - 'cause NOTHING fits me! So here I am in a store i haven't been in, in AGES cause it's trendy, and up until a little while ago nothing would've fit me... I really have no idea what size I am these days, every store says something different - so I picked up a bunch of size 5's (thinking they would NOT fit and they would be too small - I am SOoOoOo not used to this body) I put some on, and none of them fit... so I open the door and say to the sales lady that I need a smaller size and the girl YELLS across the store, "Can I get these in a size 3/4?" OMG'osh - seriously? I used to be the girl in the change room next door to one like this PISSED and completely jealous that the size 5 didn't fit THAT girl and she needed a smaller size!

Oh what'ta Happy Day for me... I am going to post before and after pics of Saturday - it's my birthday AND exactly a year since I started taking my life back! Stay tuned ;)

    You my dear...rock!

    I'd propose, but you're already married.../sigh!

Absolutely - NEVER wanna be the person who looks down her nose at others... that is SO not me. I fully admit that looks DO matter, but I would never pick on someone who is overweight - I've been there, and it's NOT fun.

Thanks, Everyone! I appreciate all the kind words ~ AND early birthday wishes!! xox

Congratulations ! I'll never be your size but, i will end up somewhere in the 12 range. I have to go shopping too especially for summer stuff, my one pair of Capri's pretty much fall to the floor. My shirts are what holds them up!! Lol I actually feel like a clown because they are so big and baggy. Sale on at the Gap tomorrow and I will be there.
  • Super cool, congrats! That happened to me last week as well when I took a bunch of size 6's into the dressing room then had to replace them all with 4's. I definintely agree, though, no gloating! But it makes you feel good inside!

Ive been a size 12/13 for a LONG time. Im usually the girl that picks out clothes too small and has to ask for larger sizes, so embarassing. But working on changing that, I am already seeing a slight difference, so yay.

I just want to get to an 8.
