Mostly common sense except the carb & bread/pasta references (I'm losing weight and eat about 50 to 60% of my calories from carbs) & 4litres of water???? - I'd be in the can the whole day (or need to have a catheter installed  )

    I prefer these three:

    1. Eat what you like and make it healthy 80% of the time
    2. Do exercise you enjoy
    3. Make sure 1 and 2 leave you at a sensible calorie deficit

You can't eliminate carbs. You can lower them, but you can't eliminate them. I can't imagine what your meals would look like if you eliminated carbs. All beef, all the time?

Here's a good diet tip: Eat real food that was once living, whether it grew out of the ground or grazed upon it or swam in the sea. Drink lots of water. End of story.

You have more rules then my taxman >.>

    I prefer my version:

    Do what works for you.
    Have fun exercising
Eat sensibly as much as you can.

Living sensibly and healthily is as much about common sense, listening to your body and having fun. Follow some standing principles or guidelines as you wish, but it would not do, Harry, to diet away and forget to live.

I am medically on a diary, soya, Gluten egg free diet and still managed to put on four stone and no i don't cheat as i don't fancy a trip to hospital. Its all about not eating too much of the stuff which is bad for you. Also you cant have whey powder if you are diary free.

Most of that is full of bull. I eat around 200g carbs a day and still managed to lose 35 pounds. I eat a bowl of cereal 45 minutes before bed with milk. Still good. I use Truiva or Splenda almost every day. A diet shouldn't be a limiting kind of thing, it's a lifestyle change so limiting eating out and all that isn't feasible. It's better not to cheat, seriously, so does that mean if I did it would derail the whole plan...Nah. You shouldn't ever consider it cheating. Then you'll feel guilty and get all freaked out. Everyone is human, we are going to want to have fun. Especially if you have a lot to lose. You can't follow all these tips for years, it's not sustainable. It would make you crazy!

I like the K.I.S.S approach. (Keep It Simply Simple)
Eat foods as close to how they are in nature as a general rule. But, don't over think it. There is no general rule that will work for everyone.

ROFL! I have to agree about the 4L/day. That would be worse than being 8 months pregnant!

    This!

I don't know about you, but life has enough rules. I don't need to add another 30 to it! *LAUGH*

The one thing that I do that I think helps more than anything else is drink water. Lots of water! I drink about a gallon a day, and when I do, it makes a positive, noticeable difference in everything I do.

Where'd you get your diet tips, Good Morning America?

    17. The latest you can eat is 1 hour before bed

    lol

It is okay to Critize whatever you want. No it wasn't Good morning America it actually came from a licensed professionalist.

The list does say the latest you can eat is 1 hour before bed because why would you want to put food on your system that your not really exercising to burn off while you go to sleep and fast?

I mean they are just tips, it didn't say in the post you must do these if you want to lose weight or you will get fat. The fact is that they are tips and advice that a person of the community was willing to share. I mean go ahead eat all the mcdonalds and burger king you want. Eat it to your hearts desire. The tips are there just as some advice. Also as someone said earlier about the dairy part. Your correct you can't be dairy free without taking whey protein as it contains some dairy. however, it does state cow dairy so stick with Goat milk or another type.

our bodies always need nourishment, not just when we exercise. there is nothing wrong with eating before bed if it doesnt interupt your sleep. It weil not prevent weight loss if you are still in a deficit. your list has some very out dated information and even "licensed professionals" are often wrong or not current.

    because recovery occurs while sleeping.

I always take in a rather large snack before bedtime even when I'm cutting.
my body needs energy to recovery and rebuild.
