I start week 4 tomorrow as well - eeek! Hopefully I will be fine........

I'm getting nervous because I think it all steps up a lot in week 5 - I really think this is more of a mental challenge for me than a physical one actually.

Finished W5D1 today! I can't believe it. I made it through all 3 of the 5 minute runs. I am still keeping a moderate pace (4.5mph) so that I don't burn out or wear out. I was definitely ready to walk by the end though! I added a minute onto the last 5 minute run. Just trying to prepare myself because Wednesday I have 2 8-minute runs! My husband said he is going to do Friday's 20 minute run with me, because I know I will need the cheering on.

    Have a great week everyone!

YAY! Finished week 4 today! I added an extra minute onto the last run of the workout.

Sometimes when I am on my way to the fitness center I'm thinking, I don't have lots of energy today, but I'm still excited about this workout. Then, once I get started, I know I have the energy.

    Next week...
    Monday - 3 5 minute runs
    Wednesday - 2 8 minute runs
    Friday - a 20 minute run!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am SO glad I take a rest on Saturday and Sunday!

Thank you SO much for posting this <sarcasm> I just finished W5, D1 and knew what D3 had in store and knew that there was A 8 minute on my next run but TWO of them???? Really, now???? AUGH!!!!

I think that the weather is doing me in. The humidity is consistently over 50%, today's average humidity is 78%. I'm going as soon as I get my youngest on the bus. I think that today's temperature was about 70 when I left. I actually lost 5 lbs during today's workout and that weight was actually AFTER I drank 20+ oz of fluid! I am feeling drained after doing my C25K outside lately. The kind of drained that I don't have any energy for the rest of the day. Thoughts? Ideas????

Just finished W5D1. I think I may have a different version than some of you. Mine had 2 five-minute runs and 1 seven- minute run. It was tough but I made it but i'm definitely getting scared for the 10 minute run at the end of the week

If you can't go outside to run and don't have a treadmill can you do it walking or running in place?? I want to do this so bad but right now with my kids out of school I don't have a place to do it and can't get to the park everyday. I am dying to do this though!

Me me! I took a few weeks off (life got in the way -- moving, etc) but I am back on track, I think. I had JUST completed W5D3 (treadmill version -- 20 minutes straight) before I stopped. It took me a while to acclimate to my new surroundings (particularly the heat) but now I am up to W6D3 -- running 25 minutes straight! Woo hoo! The weather here is killer (between 50 and 80% humidity, 100+ degree temps outside). I didn't think it would affect me indoors (as I choose to run on the treadmill until I can get adjusted to the inclines on the real pavement) but MAN it sure has!

Looking forward to continuing on to Week 7 ..

Week 2 day 1 here, so far I love it. If only the weather wouldnt sabotage me all the time, there's been T-storms and showers for the last 2 weeks here, so I run when I see it rains less or at all, but the hours are insane :))

Week 9 and loving it! I ran my 1st 5k 2 weekends ago and finished in 41 minutes. Half of the race was uphill! I'm going to wear the 5k out and move on to the 10k!

Start very, very slowly. I would recommend doing the first week for at least three weeks before moving on. I started it and blew out my knee. Now can't walk or jog for a while. Which totally sucks! Jogging is hard on the bones if you're not use to it.

Week 5 day 3 isn't as bad as it sounds. I was terrified myself and ran it nonstop! Just set your pace and breathe with your belly and you'll be fine!

You do have a point! I experienced shins splints and foot cramping so I went to a running shoe store so they could recommend some running shoes by looking at my gait. That didn't work for me because I went from having minor problems to major knee pain and discomfort in my lower legs.

I stop wearing the recommended shoes and googled "runners knee" and "stretches for runners". That help me tremendously and I no longer have any pain in my legs or knees.

Thanks!! It is good to hear that from someone who's already done it. I am excited about the 2 8-minute runs I have tomorrow. I'll probably do one 8-minute and one 9-minute, just to help me prepare. I am just happy I am doing this and feel good!!
