    23. Currently 26. I'd also have to lose 6 inches off my hips (currently 39).

Edit to add - I don't know what my waist was when I started, only that I no longer fit into men's size 38 jeans and had to start wearing 20W. I think it must have been around 40 inches, maybe a bit more.

I'd just die darling for a six year old's waist. And the hips of a withered octogenarian.

    I would like to b 24-26in. Currently I'm 27.5 & 123.6lbs
I'm 5'5 & at 174.5lbs my waist was 35in or so. Idk how much it was in the very beginning at 185. I didn't measure, but I don't think much more, cuz I lost like 8lbs the 1st week in water weight. I'm talkin natural waist though.

My goal? I really have not set a goal yet, but I think that mid to low 20s is achieveable. I started my jorney at a 39 inch waist, I have lost 22 lbs and 6 inches in my waist. I am still packing a thick layer of fat at my waist and have about 25 lbs left to lose. My lowest weight/measurements was 39 bust, 24 waist, 40 hips. I looked really funny wearing jeans since I could never find a pair that fit both my waist and my hips.

guess it depends where ya'll are measuring, but my natural waist is currently about 31", I'd like to get down to 28". I am 5'6". overall, 3" more from each my waist and hips, i'd be ecstatic.

Proportionally, I'm very small-waisted. The first time I lost a bunch of weight in my early 20s, I went from 238 lbs to 168 lbs. At around my lowest, I was 28". At my ultimate goal size, which will probably be around a weight of 135-140 lbs, I hope to be under 26". It would be nice if I could swing 25", or even 24". I'm 5' 7.5" tall, by the way.

I know we don't all lose inches exactly where we want, but does anyone have a set waist measurement they would like to get down to? And how many inches have you lost so far around the middle?

I do a workout that helps us set our goal to the "golden ratio". There are many workouts that have this for a goal. In order to look "pleasing" it's not just the waist, but the hips and shoulders as well. For men it's more of a V-cut from the shoulders to waist I think, and for the women it's an hour glass shape.

Everyone is different and you will not know until you reach a point of leanness where you can see where you are at. It turns out my lean body mass is too thick around the torso to keep my waist at my golden ideal, but my shoulders and hips are right on the ideal. I don't know as much for what the men need to do for their workouts but for the women it's an overall body workout with a lot of legs and shoulders.

I actually had to cut out all the ab specific exercises to get my waist down to the ideal for height and even then I had to get down to 10% body fat. It was a fun experiment but I decided to come back up a couple of percent in body fat and I've added back in the ab exercises so my muscles are thicker and make the circumference 2-3 inches bigger than the golden ideal, but my abs are still well defined.

It seems that the taller women have an easier time reaching the golden ideal for their waist and then need to work hard to develop muscles in their upper body and glutes to get their shoulders and hips to match. Shorter women like me who have been lifting heavy for a long time tend to have a lot of core muscles so it's difficult to get the circumference down to the ideal.

I've learned to let it go. I went from obese and unhealthy to super fit, lean, and healthy so it does not matter to me anymore but it was a fun experiment.

Forgot to say that I am surprised by how much I've lost from my waist. It's about what it was in high school, though I weigh about 10 lbs more.

I have a pretty small waist compared to my hips. Makes pants hard to fit. So yeah, I want smaller hips, and my waist to stay the same. My waist is 28.5" and my hips are 41.5".

    <- That's NOT me BTW.

I am currently at about a 35.5 and I have already lost about 4 inches in the waist. I hope to get under 30 inches. It's been a long time, like 9 years since I was even that small. That was before I had my youngest son who is now just turned 8. I used to be about a 26/27 inch waist in high school, but I believe that pipe dream has sailed long ago. :)

    Currently I'm 25/26

I'm okay with it but wouldn't mind lose a couple more inches, I eat a TON of sodium like 3500 a day... so I think it would be different if i cut down on belly bloat.

My focus in one my legs which are big for my frame

    27.5"
    I'm 5'1.5" with large build.

May not sound small for my weight, but compared to to my 37" bust and 40" hips, I say its alright. lol

I've just lost an inch off my waist! (28"-27")

I put it down to all the hula hooping I've been doing :P also starting to get some abbs! ;D

Hula hooping, really? Does that work? Hmm... might have to try that!

I used to be 24", but it's been a while since I was there. I'm more concerned with just being the general shape and tone that I'm looking for... not too concerned with exact numbers and measurements. They're just general goals, for me. I'll know when I'm where I want to be.

I used to be around 26.5, and it would be awesome to be that again. At the moment, I am around 28.5. Only 2 inches to go, and I definitely feel that it's achievable. Loving that I have turned the corner and am getting a little closer to my goal with each passing week.

I'm 5'11'' and AT THE MOMENT am rocking a 29 incher. Was 27-28 a few months ago. Looking to get back down there or possibly smaller. Need to firm up that area more, which will help. I wish I could lose more weight off of my legs...but I'm more of a pear shape I think. :)
  • I would love to have a 25 but I currently seem to go between 26 and 28 inches. I'd like to model, but be at a healthy weight, which I am at but cinch it in more. My hips are 34. I'm 6 feet and around 140-145, and I have an athletic slim build with a long torso and long legs. People have always told me to go for basketball, and that I have the build of runner/rower etc.

Currently 30 inch, started at 36 inch, would really lie to be under 30 - 26 inch would be great, was that when I was younger (pre baby) but almost at goal so looks like a lot more waisty exercises looming.... x

Exactly the same here! I've lost 6" off my waist so far and not a single one off my hips. If I lose any more off my waist, my waist will actually be smaller than my thigh!
