  • I wonder if I could add spinach, sausage, gummy bears, cream cheese, reeses cups, lemonade, malt balls, tuna, dill, bean sprouts, groud beef, baby carrots, blueberries, fanta, peanut butter, salad dressing, green beans, onion soup, chicken, salmon, pineapple, cinnamon, cat food, splenda, caramel, mustard, broccoli, pepperoni, garlic, sweet peas, corn, pomegranate, grape juice, açai berries, taco shells, pickles, lime, roast beef, champagne, ketchup, coffee creamer, rosetta pepper, tomato paste and refined sugar to it? Sounds like it could improve this recipe a lot!!

This looked pretty healthy up until I saw the banana part. You jerk.

This kind of name calling is against forum rules. You are so mean!

I'm hungry, therefore I get a free pass. Isn't that how it works? I'm confused now. :indifferent:

    I'm confused now too

I'm so disppointed that you think my recipe needs cat food in it. So mean and disrespectful. So sad. What did i ever do to you? I thought this was a place for support?

For the most part, this sounds good. But the bananas throw me.

I made this tonight! I substituted a few things though: Instead of butter, I used Country Crock, and I used ezekiel bread instead of white bread (because it's healthier!), and I tried the banana pudding idea from the other poster! It was a HIT!! Even my picky imaginary children ate it up! They usually get so mad when I try new recipes!

OMG this would be perfect with some nacho cheese! Thanks xxx

Campbells has a cheese soup that might be less calories it's yummy too :D

Nah, I think I'll stick with the nacho cheese... I like the idea of the banana pudding with cool whip instead of a banana! It's like dessert and all of your meals for the day in one sitting! Definitely going to use wheat bread, though... I have to watch my figure

Campbell's cheese soup has like a billion calories in it. I know. I like to eat the whole can with half a bag of croutons thrown in.

Somebody's trying to corrupt the healthy mind of any person who sees this recipe. I did feel a tad gross reading the ingredients.

I don't think anyone is really trying to be rude about this recipe, but when you come to a weight loss site and are searching for recipes and you get one that is cheese, white bread, butter, potato chip and cream based its a little disheartening for those of us starting off fresh. I admit I was hoping to come across some healthy nutritious and delicious recipes. There is no nutrition in this. Seeing this as the first recipe listed on here makes me want to turn around and go back to google.

I'm all about supporting each other but there's not much support in a 1000 calorie slice of junk. Maybe you should post this on My Fat Gaining Pal and not a fitness site.

Unless one is practicing a ridiculous very low calorie diet, they can certainly fit a portion of some kind into their daily or weekly calorie/macronutrient targets.

^^ He is correct. The only "off limits" foods for me are those I am allergic to and I've shed what can only be termed a "crap ton" of weight.

Otherwise, it is about changing your lifestyle to make sure you are getting adequate nutrients (micro and macro) within your calorie allowances and indulging cravings sensibly - sometimes, that includes some cheesy ham and banana casserole, other times it may be a single square of dark chocolate.

I was simply pointing out that this is above and beyond a treat. And for a weight loss site, this is definitely a deterrent. As a new starter, its just hard to read. If people want post ridiculously fattening recipes with no nutritional value they should creat a "Fat Recipe" section!

I'm all for not having off limit foods, but I'm not going to put EVERYTHING in one recipe lol. Come on......butter and potato chips and white bread and cheese and cream???? Lol

Nobody is calling it a treat. As you will note in the Success Stories section, scores of folks have attained their goals while still indulging in sensible portions of every kind of food. One does not have to eat salad and chicken every day to attain their fitness goals. Some of us are doing it, eating the occasional pizza, lasagna, beer, pastry, etc. :drinker:
