Polar HRM + water?

I apologize immensely if this has been beaten to death. Just bought a Polar Ft4 (had an older model previously that didn't have the calorie burner on it). My old one worked great in the pool - anyone know if the Polar FT4 works in the pool? Can't for the life of me figure where I stashed the manual. (Dorkof82 - I know you said yours doesn't but wanted to hear what others' experience is..)

Well, since no one answered, I tested it myself. It worked while in the water. A few strokes into the first lap, my heart rate was showing 00. I pressed the center transmitter unit tighter to my skin and tightened the chest strap a tad, and it never lost contact again the rest of my workout. That said, I don't know whether its the HRM or my body, but I never got my heart rate up much above the 140s. Probably me. But there ya go.

Per the manual, you cant go past 30m
You cant press the buttons under water either....

the only confliction I found, and Im going to go with the label...

The Label on the chest strap reads "After every use, detach connector and rinse strap."
The Polar site/book say after every 5th use...

Hi, I've got a Polar FT 7 which is supposed to be ok in water but the instructions say to not push any buttons whilst under water.
There was a thread a while ago which discussed whether HRM worked under water or not. It was pretty much split with possibly the
Ones which were water resistant to greater depths being best - this may sound obvious but my FT 7 is supposed to be water resistant I think to 30m but people had had problems with it (usually needing a couple of days to dry out)
