I am still on Level 1 also. I have been too scared to check out Level 2 or 3!! Level 1 is getting a little easier but I think I am going to do it a few more days to a week before I go to Level 2. I love the workout though! I talked my friend into buying it yesterday and she tried it for the first time lastnight. She is ready to kill me now! lol

It's Jillian Michaels (The Biggest Loser trainer for black team) "30 Day Shred" It is a 3 Level circuit training DVD. You start at 1 and then do it until until you are strong enough to make it to the next level. Each level is 20 min long. You are supposed to do the DVD everyday for 30 days and the DVD cover says you can lose up to 20 lbs in 30 days, but havent heard of anyone that has lost that much yet. I love it though. For only being 20 min long it is definitley one of the more challenging and impacting workouts I have ever done. I have heard nothing but good reviews from everyone else I have talked to!!
PS It is on sale at Target right now!!

I've done 3 days of level 2 and I find it way better than level 1.

Anyone have ideas on how many calories on average are burned for each level? I have an estimate of about 450 for level 1 but don't know how accurate that is or if the other levels are different.

Holy crap! I only estimated it at 200 for me.... I'm 5'2" 160lbs... I think I put it in as aerobics? Can't remember.... I need a HRM, so I'd know for sure! LOL, I would LOVE it if I was really burning 450!!!

The only reason I used 450 was because someone elsewhere estimated it at that, this was level 1 only. She said she wore one of those gadget things and that's what it said. She was about my weight/height - 5'3", 160lbs. However, I think that could change with taking breaks and if you follow Natalie and do the beginner workout instead. I don't know what she followed. Maybe I should estimate it a little lower.

I'm puttin it under circuit training on here and it says 256 for me 168lbs and 5ft 10.
but i really need to get a heart rate monitor. will get one soon.
almost made it through level two wiht no stopping but follow anita sometimes. i will get there. feel stronger already.

I just bought the 30 day shred today and took a quick look at level one to see if they would mention how heavy the weights should be. They didn't and I know it depends on the person, so I thought I'd just ask what everyone else is using! How about it?

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they use 5lbs weights.
I did the Shred off and on for a couple of months when I first started exercising. I used 3lbs for the longest time. Then I finally was able to do most of the exercises with 5lbs. Oh it was great, lol.

    I bought 3 pound weights.

And, I realized that I put the wrong person earlier. I usually follow Anita - not Natalie. I wish I could. I tried a couple times but have a bad knee. I'm glad that I can still do most of it though, even with the bad knee. It's what keeps me from running.

I think I'm going to update my calories consumed. 450 seems high and I'd rather it be accurate. I have still lost a few pounds so I must be doing something right.

I love the Shred! I haven't done it in awhile...but i think I'll begin again! I started with 5 lb weights...and I still use them. It's a hard workout...but on those days when you really don't think you can squeeze anything else in...it's perfect!! I also bought Jillian's 5 disc set, The Biggest Winner...and those are great workouts too! I often will choose one video from that set for my morning workout...then I"ll do the shred in the afternoon when my kiddos are napping. Jillian kicks my butt!!

Ever tried Apple Cider Vinegar for the joint pain? I started drinking it a few weeks back...and have NEVER felt better!!

Do you just drink the vinegar? I do love vinegar, but can't see just drinking it. And, apple cider vinegar isn't my favorite. I've not heard of that, but would love to hear more. Anything to help my knees.

No I drink it with water. I drink 2 TBsp twice a day mixed in my 16oz water bottle. It helps with immunity, joint pain, energy, and boosts your metabolism!! I've seriously never felt better! Make sure, however, you drink Braggs ORGANIC unfiltered with 'THE MOTHER' in it. it's only about $6 at GNC for 32 oz, which lasts me a few weeks. Hope that helps!
