Heck yeah! I took my kids to play soccer last night. We got there at 5 o'clock. Its an indoor soccer facility and we were the only ones there (I have 3 kids) on the free for all field. There was a birthday on the other field. So I jumped it and we played dodgeball and soccer for 90 straight minutes. I was exhausted and so were they. As we were sitting there getting a drink of water, one of the parents comes over with a WHOLE pizza and said that they have a lot of leftovers. Oh man, I haven't eaten pizza in MONTHS!
So, I grabbed a slice and ate it, to be courteous of course. Well, one of my kids only ate half their slice and being a good dad...lol...finished it for them.
Let me tell you the stomach ache that followed last night...ah....I felt like I would have been better off eating a soccer ball....anyways, I ate some broccoli before bed and drank my full glass of fiber this morning. I drank about 6 glass of water before I went to bad last night. Today, its mostly going to be a liquid day. I cannot wait to get rid of this pizza.
So...yeah, it happens, then our bodies remind us why we don't eat like that..lol :grumble:0 -
awww, wook at her wittle baby binge, so cute0

I blew it this weekend too. My youngest is leaving for the whole summer so we went to an amusement park and the drive in movie, Wow....what crap that we had this weekend. Just sucking it up and getting back at it today.0

I frequently cheat at weekends, but that's partly planned. I deliberately go easier so that I can reward myself a little on Saturday and Sunday after a week of sticking to the plan. If I had the willpower to be strong every day of the week, 365 days of the year, that would be wonderful, but for me it doesn't work. I don't have the "denied" foods like chocolate, candy, desserts or soda at weekends but I am usually more relaxed about hitting my exact calorie target. Don't worry too much about two days off, provided it is something you can pull back by next weekend.

I am fine with proper fresh pizza made right there in front of me, but chain pizza like Domino or Pizza-La does give me the kind of reaction you describe. There must be some strange stuff in there...

I think my 5 days on, 2 days off approach was what had me stuck for a long time. I've just recently decided that I am going to be "good" on weekends too (maybe a glass of wine or something, I"m not saying it's all carrots and lettuce). Anyway now that I don't give myself those days off I've seen a much bigger boost in weight loss. But that said, today's a new day, don't beat yourself up and you're not BAD!!!:drinker:0

I think it is totally fine to eat at the ballpark! I spend most of the time chasing kids, so I burn it off before I even leave!
The loaded Nachos at Turner Field in Hotlanta are beyond sinful. I have dreams about those nachos.
not kidding0 -
Don't get down and discouraged. We all have had times we let go and eat things we shouldn't, trust me I did sunday myself. The trick is that you get right back to what you were doing to lose weight. I feel it's ok to have a cheat day every once and a while, not every other day but maybe once every 2 weks. If you don't then you will eventually crack and binge and not continue on with to your goals.0

I forgot to mention the peanut butter and fluff sandwich I ate for lunch yesterday!!0

I was the same way. I was raised that if I put it on my plate I better eat it. I hate food being wasted. Specially when money has been tight.0 -

lmao dont feel bad....i said same thing.lived on the grill this past weekend including a 20 oz sirloin :-) .....only way to stay sane!0

There's nothing wrong with falling off the wagon or cheating on occasion - it keeps the body guessing. Just get back to a healthy eating pattern for the rest of the week and you'll be fine!0

I had a weekend of Food and drink debauchery
Friday - pizza and soda
Saturday - taco bell for lunch and 2.5 beers at a wedding reception
Sunday - biscuits and gravy for breakfast, a blizzard, and skyline for dinner.
I'm feeling it today. I feel fat and sluggish and the scale was mad at me... :-/0 -
sounds like a normal weekend to me. I just try to get in an above average workout to compensate0

Every weekend for me is CHEAT weekend! I eat whatever I want! However, I am very strict during the week. I think my body appreciates the fact I eat "real" food on the weekends & has rewarded me with pounds lost on the scale. :bigsmile:0

Meh.
I routinely over eat and on garbage foods for my cheat days. If I didnt', I'd probably quit and stop losing weight and be 800 pounds.
For me, I know I'm not willing to give up delicious and naughty food for the rest of my life. .... So I eat healthy and cheat when I want to. It prevents me from saying Eff it, I'd rather be dead than starving.0 -
Not bad at all girly! I over ate by about 450 calories yesterday and I don't care! I've eaten 1250 for 6 weeks and every day I've eaten right around there so I am totally okay with it! Now if you start to do it every day...eek! But overall, I say don't worry!0

For me, it's about losing that word "cheat" and other terms that bring a negative vibe to the process. I've battled my overweight condition for 30 years, off and on. These last six weeks have been my most successful attempt during that entire time and one major shift was to move away from feelings of shame and inadequacy. Another realization has been that I will forever have to monitor my food intake and MFP really is the most convenient way to do that EVER. Sometimes I shudder while entering my choices for a day but I do it anyway because on the days when I make better choices, I can look back and see that I'm doing better. Recently I had a Drumstick ice cream cone three days in a row and didn't even necessarily exceed my calorie limit. But seeing that on my food diary helped steer me back to saner choices and made me aware of a nasty trend before it went on any longer. I've come to believe that as long as I am honest with my diary and review it with an eye for trends and, then, make necessary adjustments, I'll be okay in the long run. I have never been successful with blocking out weekends to indulge or rewarding myself on Fridays for doing well the previous six days. Every time I have used that strategy to try to lose weight, I have been unable to make permanent changes in my food behaviors. Life is not predictable and I have to be constantly aware of what I'm eating. To me, that's one of the keys -- constant awareness. Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself!! Take heart that you're reaching out for support. That's vital!0

Yes!! I am regretting the Five Guys burger and fries I had while out shopping yesterday. Five Guys is new to my town and I'd heard such great things I thought I'd give it a try. It was good, but when I saw the calorie count all I could think of was how I could have had a much larger homemade burger for the same calories (and for much cheaper!).0

I kinda do the same thing...........I dont' really log on the weekends, but the weight consistantly comes off. I eat the same thing every day during the week, lol. Weird, I know, but I don't mind....it's only 5 days. But it's also INCREDIBLY important that I work out M-F every day. If I don't, I'm screwed.
I DO make healthy choices where I can on the weekends, but this is real life, and I've found what works for ME. :happy:0 -

This makes me curious. What do you eat during the week that you don't consider "real" food?0 -

We spend the whole weekend away from home 75% of the time for travel 18U fastpitch softball. So we take a cooler with fruits, nuts, wraps and water.0 -

hahahahaha
I cheat almost every weekend(: and if I don't cheat on the weekend, then I cheat on a weekday ;P lol
I cheat once a week, EVERY week... and I go all out(: Think fish tacos, tortilla chips, candy, soda, pizza, fried foods... all the good stuff(;
And you know what? I'm still losing! I'm okay with setting aside a specific 'cheat day' every week(: it keeps me sane, and - like I said - I'm still losing!0 -
Don't feel bad!! I ate a bunch of cheese puffs saturday night but luckily I was still under my calorie goal. Then yesterday I ate a whopper with cheese and medium fries and sprite from burger king That in itself was almost over my calorie goal and this morning when I worked out it seemed like I was sluggish and couldn't work out as hard as I have been. Made me wonder it if was from that whopper and fries! But oh well, it's a new week time to get right back into it!!! WE GOT THIS!!!!!!!!!0

I'm looking for a lifestyle change, not to stop living. I probably go over two or three days a week, but I'm my opinion it's the end of the week tally that's important. As long as I'm at or around that weekly calorie count I feel that I've achieved my goal. I still love my pizza and sweet snacks once in a while, I just do a little more excersise to burn off the extra calories. It must be working, as I am down 31 lbs. from the start of the year. Keep up the good work and don't give up.0
