I don't know how strict you will be on your diet, but for breakfast the Paris hotel buffet is excellent but you have to get there early on the weekend. I've heard that the new M casino has a nice regular buffet. If I'm there a weekend I usually do one very nice dining restaurant and one buffet, not necessarily in the same day. Then eat light fruits and oatmeals the rest of the day. Bellagio and Venetian have nice fine restaurants, but most hotels have the gamut in price and food choices.
I don't play tables or anything just slots, so no gambling advice. It will be hot most likely so be prepared. I usually get a map of the hotels like on vegas.com, so I can see where they are in relation to where I'm staying then you can plan what you see when you walk and if there are places you want to catch a cab to. Even casinos next door can be a long walk though, so comfy shoes are always good. Save your clubbin' heels for the cab nights.

I like to see the lions at the MGM grand. They also have the white tigers still at the Mirage. There's a coca cola and m & m museum on the strip too if you are tired of gambling, eating, drinking or sunning yourself

Thanks for all the advice, I am going to try to stay on my diet but I know it will be difficult. I will subconsciencely count calories... but not sure about logging. Also alcohol will probably win over the food anyway.. I havent drank in sooo long.. :)

Beatles - Love at the Mirage! If you're a Beatles fan, its a must see. I see it every time I go! I'll be in Vegas from June 12-15 and I already have my tickets!

I love Vegas, I try to go at least 3-4 times a year :) I'd go more, but then I'd probably end up a broke mofo.

if you are staying near New York New York, everyday from 6-9 they have a happy hour 2 for 1. It's a great place to pre game.

Then after lunch head straight for Margaritaville. After a few 'blenders' you'll on your way.

Also the Stratosphere rides are great if you enjoy being frozen with fear :D Probably best to do those before your "what happens in vegas" night.
