Body Confidence

Um, how is 5'8, 153lbs and a size 8 even remotely a "bigger size"?
I'm 5'10, 168lbs. and a size 14 and I am of 'normal weight'. I'm confused by this. :-/
I couldn't ever achieve a size 8. I was really skinny at one point and even that was only a size 10.
I am so glad you said this....I was thinking the same thing. Yeah but when would it ever be wrong to be confident? Doesn't that just mean that you believe in yourself? Respect your life experiences, your life, and what makes you the person that you are? Having confidence that you worked hard to become healthier, even if you have not achieved your overall goal should never be something you question. That is something to proud and confident about. Good luck with your journey.0 -
Sounds like you carry yourself very well....
But Im with the others...at 5'8" and 158 lbs and a size 8.....youre for sure not considered a "bigger" woman.
I am 5'11", 170 and a size 14. To me thats considered a bigger woman but we all have our views of ourselves. As taller women we do carry our weight so much better and its easier for us to "hide" our weight.
I started at 204 and would like to get down to 150......work in progress!!!! I find that the more wieght I lose and the more I work out the more confident I feel about myself...my hubby has even said something about it!! Its a good feeling....Keep Up the Good work!
Thank you! Best of luck to you in the future! :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm 5'3", 200 pounds, and the most confident mofo you'll ever meet. It doesn't matter what your size is, you gotta love the person you are.
Hint: You are not defined by your dress size.0 -
Absolutely nothing wrong with being confident...
I still have another 55 lbs to lose and I am always confident.
Probably because I am doing this for myself and not for someone else.
That is great! Best of luck to you ! :flowerforyou:0 -

Is it strange that even though I am not yet at my goal weight I am still confident when it comes to my body?
I am 5'8, 153lbs, size 8. So yes, I'm tall and I'm not stick thin.
I realize that a lot of people, before reaching goal weight, are not confident when it comes to their bodies. Some people even think it's wrong to be my size and confident about my body. I've actually been "hit on" more than once in stores and public places, even though I'm still this size. I know a lot of people think that unless a woman is Size X( or whatever they prefer), they should lose weight. So what do you think, honestly? Is it wrong for me to be confident and dress confidently, despite being a (commonly-referred-to-as) "bigger" size?
~thanks~
WRONG of you? According to your marker, you've lost 110 pounds. Sounds to me like you have 'fat girl syndrome' in a different form than what I'm used to, where you don't think you deserve to be confident. Of course you do! You are in a very healthy weight range for your height, and I bet you look amazing. Size 8 is just fine, i'm pretty sure that's what the victoria secret models wear. I'd say embrace your new body, you definitely deserve it. I'd be very confident if I were you.0 -

Over the past 17 months I have lost 110. I've been told about "fat girl syndrome" by my sister, aunt, friends, and a few of my other family members. I guess you're right thank you so much.0 -

FYI - I just now saw your photos, you are NOT a bigger girl!!! You look great!!! Whoever called you a bigger girl obviously prefers skin and bones, people were not meant to have 0% body fat! You are doing wonderfully0 -

Thanks a ton!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I am currently a size 11. I like to walk around my house with no shirt on, just because I like to look at how far I have come. Its wonderful to be confident, even if we aren't "perfect." There is no problem with being confident.0
