I am awkward with compliments, but just yesterday a man told me I was spectacular . Well he said my butt was spectacular which probably meant more to me :)

But any compliment is nice , I am not picky

    effin' hawt...

I don't believe "sexy" when I hear it.

Beautiful, gorgeous, cute - all overused

I just wanna be HAWWWT. Better with an expletive in front of it....and then thrown down and passionately...oh, I'd better stop now.

    With you Doll, believe sexy:smile:

I love getting complimented on my eyes and my intelligence.

It makes me think that they're paying attention.

Anything you haven't also said to 94 other women.

^^^THIS . . . if you say something or call me something that is unique to me then I'm more likely to believe it.

edited to add: letting me know that you like other things about me besides how I look, is a bonus too.

No, no GUYS! You don't have to say anything.....

Walk up behind her and lean in the doorway or whatever, while she's doing her hair, or gettin ready, just stand there and stare (not creepy) in awe of her, then when she turns around grin. DUH!!! DUH!!! DUH!!!!

I hate it when guys say they don't know what to say.....SAY NOTHING AT ALL!

But yes sweet nothings are sometimes nice to hear.

'Um. No. That would creep me the hell out. Quit staring crazy person!

    "Damn, girl!"

Followed by a swat on the *kitten*.

But never 'you look cute'. I am not a puppy.

    Depends on the moment;

No make-up, hair up, not feelin’ pretty and my husband says I’m beautiful.
Stressed to the limits with the kids and he tells me what a good mom I am.
From others, I prefer smart and funny over beautiful and pretty. Those last two are fleeting and angles and lights can change an appearance ;) but smart and funny <dreamy sigh> that will insure I continue to talk to you.

*I was 17 before my daddy ever said I was pretty. It was prom night and I cried. When I asked why he never said it before he said; “I wanted you to focus on what was important; your education, your talents, your character. Had I focused on your appearance you would have looked to men who only focused on that as well.” My daddy is smart. ;)

A guy once told me I had a nice fart box. That didn't do it for me, but I was in the Army at the time.

DH will look at me with a big goofy grin on his face and reach over and touch my cheek softly and say "My angel." Usually I hate sappy stuff but that makes me melt every FREAKIN' time.

"Smart", "competent", or "fast" (as in speed, not the other way).

I don't absorb flattery very well, not because I have low self-esteem but because I have no control over whether anyone finds me attractive. I don't care about things I cannot control. That's whimsy.

    I enjoy words I've earned.
