Bump.
I sent this to my grandma and she made it...but she made it like a traditional dump cake and didn't read the instructions. She just layered the pineapple and cake mix instead of mixing them together without the extra ingredients listed on the box. The result was a powdery layer, though it still tasted good.
I'm planning on making this for the 4th of July and adding the fruit toppings in a flag design.0 -

This is SO easy and always a hit! It's also fun to watch people's faces when you tell them how to make it...Blows their minds!
Mix and bake according to box directions in 13x9 pan:
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple in natural juice, no sugar added
1 box dry angelfood cake mix (Don't add any of the other listed ingredients on the box.)
Let it cool.
Top with a layer of fat free/sugar free vanilla pudding. (I use a little less milk to make it thicker.)
Top pudding with a layer of light cool whip. (About one container)
Top with berries. (I used strawberries, blackberries and blueberries)
Adults, kids, healthy eaters, not-so-healthy eaters ALL loved this!
Sounds yummy.0 -
I have made a similar version of this. Make the cake the same way but for the topping just cover with cool whip and toasted coconut. Now you have a Pina Coloda Cake
