Well, I guess it depends on the horse. ie, what color? Brown?

Mkay...how about horseback riding for example? I was just looking for some options for people like me who are no where near a gym, or maybe can't afford a membership.

I have used copies of 30 day shred, Zumba, p90X and p90. All DVD related and are a one time cost rather than monthly gym. I think the 30 day shred cost me 5 dollars to download on amazon. I also have workout apps on my iPhone for working your butt, abs, legs and arms. Or I go running. just need decent shoes and a good sport bra to get started. I ride my bike sometimes or take the neighbor's dog for a walk. None of those things cost very much (as long as you buy used copies of the DVDs, otherwise they are pricey).

I think it depends on whether or not you ride bareback

It just feels more natural to do so....although the rides don't seem to last as long......

Inner thigh calluses don't sound hot at all, lol! I'm not a rider and am afraid of farm animals so I wouldn't know one way or another. You can get involved in martial arts or cycling. Those are great alternatives if there isn't a gym near you. Investing in something like P90x, Insanity, or Convict Conditioning would give you some decent strength gains (nothing major, but decent). Google may have dozens more we haven't even thought of yet :) Good luck!

Walking lunges are always good. I do them up and down the block. My neighbors think I am crazy....And sprint intervals(sprint 50m or so and then walk back, repeat, etc. Again, up and down my street. Its a great workout, and its free.

But if they are more enjoyable, does it really matter how long it takes?

It doesn't bother me, obviously.....the other participants may feel like they got short-changed

You should probably practice more. It really should be mutually enjoyable for the rider and ridee.

Yanicka, when you are in a room, it's immediately hot in there.

How long do you usually ride? I'm talking up in the stirrups, high trot for the first two or three hours, then cutting cattle for another few hours until about 2:00 pm, when you and your horse break for lunch. Then back in the saddle to move cattle into another pasture...we're usually unsaddling by about 4 or 5 pm.

i love riding but dont have horses, i love to dance around the house with my baby, run up and down the stairs, or turn on some garth brooks and do excersizes on the floor, my baby loves when i do pushups i give him a kiss each time i go down hahah it makes it easier and more enjoyable

I don't think I'd want to do push-ups with something fragile (like, oh say, a BABY) under me. If you're really pushing yourself, and you probably should be, you will sometimes get muscle fatigue and drop yourself. I've dropped myself on the mat more times than I can count, but it's a mat, that's what it's for. Just my (probably unwanted) 2 cents.

I rode for three hours today mostly trot and canter...then came back and trained my two youngsters and done some serious jumping. My legs are quite thick probably act like a cushion lol

long walks, sqwats, chruches, small children....stuf like that
also the first 3 lead to the last one:tongue:

Umm, no, long walks, squats, and crunches do not lead to small children. Not using birth control leads to small children.
