That's just silly... Cruel is cruel, a happy dog is a happy dog, you don't have to be a dog expert to recognize one. Could the dog be HAPPIER? Probably, as we might all be happier in better circumstances. But that doesn't mean that *this* - whatever *this* is - makes his miserable. You CAN tell what your animal is thinking, really, now.. Not the *words*, but you can recognize a mood of the animal.

And I can't believe I've done something I so don't wanna do, that is pick fights over controversial issue on the internet.
    I shouldn't, but I just couldn't help it.
Anyway, yeah, whatever, we all have our own opinions and obviously I cannot convince you and you cannot convince me.

I'm sure you eat meat though. What makes one animal more deserving of your version cruelty than another? Personally, I don't think its cruel if its put to good use. People eat chinchillas and some people wear them. If you're gonna use one part of the animal you might as well use all of it. I still think they're cute pets though, but that wouldn't stop me from wearing one

What makes you think they're meant to be pets either? I'm sure it would prefer to live with the other chinchillas in the wild somewhere. At least they don't even know they're clothes. I'm sure they know that they're trapped in a cage though. That's make me more sad :(

But nothing compares to being skinned alive and stuff like that, I'm pretty sure. You wouldn't want to see the way animals are killed for fur, skinned alive because there isn't enough time to wait for them to die... It's horrible and I'm sorry if the picture was to visual

Just to point out that nothing is skinned alive. Doing that would ruin the fur therefore ruining the profit. They are all killed before being skinned.

I have a pair of chins right now and they have a baby. Chins are one of the cutest animals........can't say that though cause I think pretty much all animals are cute!

i dont know animals adjust just like people. my chinchilla loves being with me and my boyfriend i know this because he lets us know when we need to hang out. but he also loves his alone time in his cage. i have a good size cage for a chinchilla and ledges for him to hop on and put new things so he is never bored. im sure he'd be happy in the wild or with me but i know for a fact he'd survive longer and more comfortably with me so that balances the pros and cons for him lol the only thing that would make my chinchillas life any happier is if i let him chew on power chords and have a ton of raisins

ummm my chinchilla is no slave. i have never gotten my chinchilla (bouche) to do any of my bidding. in fact he is the most demanding animal ive ever seen. children are expected more out of! id say animals that are born and raised to be slaughtered are slaves. not animals living with families and consider them a family memeber

All I know is that chinchillas have the softest fur that I have ever had the pleasure to touch and they are the cutest little fluffballs! I'd love to have one but I'm afraid my cat might think it was a snack.
