Whey protein is food. Like all food in the universe, it will make you gain fat if your intake exceeds your requirements.0

LMAO. that "personal trainer" has much to learn. You can tell him that this is me BEFORE at 232.2 lbs MArch3rd 2011, then AFTER on January 10th, 2012 42lbs lost, drinking WHEY protein EVERY SINGLE DAY. LOL.
This next set is from April 30th 2012 thru May 26th 2012 part of my current 90 day challenge.

It's hard to quote on my old iPad!! But you guys all look amazing!! Thanks for the support! I'm taking my wieght loss journey slow and steady the healthy way, because it's a life style change, not a quick fix!!0

That trainer was clearly trying to sell some crap product and doesn't really care about people. I am living proof that whey protein is a good thing and will not cause you to gain weight.0
-
So what brand do you use? Thanks for sharing your story; I'm interested in trying anything to get my weight loss jump started.
Thanks0 -
I use whey protein the same as you (after a heavy workout) and I have not saw any gain from it. I have hit plateaus but definitely not gained anything back!0

The trainer was feeling a little threatened by someone so informed...
I tried a protein mix one morning (was lucky to get a sample from GNC the night before) and I felt like I was going to hurl for about 4 hours afterwards.
Of course, I was at my desk job when I took it, but I felt so ill that I don't think any activity would have done me any good.
I will admit I don't have any protein drinks after doing my c25k runs or other lite strength movements (just starting out), but the glass of chocolate milk or peanut butter on an english muffin does taste pretty good.0 -
That trainer sounds like an idiot!! I drink a Whey Protein shake EVERY MORNING with my breakfast, in part to help muscle recovery and also becasue it's a good way to make sure i reach my protein goal everyday (I can sometimes fall short). I lost over 60 pounds doing this every day. Shame on him for saying this to you in front of a bunch of people!0

I wonder what he'd think of my shakes then: Not only do I drink 2 whey shakes a day (sometimes 3) I also add 1/2 cup of heavy cream (400 calories, 44g of fat) to also make them into a calorie-laden meal for me.
I've been drinking those same shakes for over 2 years now, had about 900 of them I'd estimate. And I lost well-over 100lbs in well-under a year while consuming them.0 -
Whey does not make me gain.
I also think that was very unprofessional of him to speak to you that way at all never mind in front of a group!0 -
I've lost 30+ pound in 90 days, I use a whey protein supplement. Love 'em.0

I want to complement other styles regarding proteins, not only whey.
The whey would not lead to gain weight. Any kind of weight obtain can be from not necessarily reaching appropriate macros at all hours, furthermore i may want to alter ones routines.
I propose ingesting 6 small foods each day (about 3: 3 hours apart). That retains ones metabolic process working.
Incorporate entire amino acids in what you eat, similar to rooster, ground slim animal meat, egg cell white wines.
Increase sluggish running crab supply, similar to oats along with sweet spud. Consume these types of inside your 1st 3 food of the morning. They will keep the entire body total along with energy way up.
Increase extra fat, similar to almonds, organic olive oil, and avocado. Employ these types of modestly.
A lot of clean up, entire vegetables.
I'd furthermore adjust ones physical exercises in order to something such as this kind of:
Mon: Friday: half-hour fasted aerobic (empty stomach) very first thing every day. Evenings, accomplish 20-30 min aerobic furthermore lifting using a unique lean muscle class.
Weekend or maybe Sunday: Perform HIIT aerobic every day. This really is substantial power time period education.0 -
Recall, individual mentors and bunch exercise educators don't have much if any sustenance training. Afterward, ask him where he got his degree in dietetics in light of the fact that I surety you he doesn't have one. Individuals in all callings, http://www.yogayug.com/0

What he meant to say was: "I have no sales skills and my product sucks, so I have to lie."0

Protein helps gain muscle!! But if your feeling all fat, bloated, chk your protein. If you paid 15 bucks for it there is your answer.. Just like everything else there is a quality.0

115 lbs lost drinking two whey protein shakes on workout days - which can be from 3 to 6 days a week!!
And obviously eating at a deficit most of the time ;-)0 -
