    me SQUATS! BLAH!

Used to be situps, but then I learned a good form and now I actually enjoy it.

I'd have to say the bench press. I suck at it. Its really inconvienent cause I don't trust half the goons in my gym to spot me. I use the machine.

I know I have to do squats on the machine where you can't take the bar off and you have to turn it off the hooks to get it to move. I think that if I fell with the bar I'd be laying there until about 8:30 when my hubby gets there and I get there at 7!

One thing that I've learned is to do a little of both; free weights and cables/machines. I use the free weights (with light weight) to really work on my form and get an overall burn on whatever muscle group.
If I'm real unfamiliar with the exercise, I go super light on the weight and really concentrate on each rep.

Then I move to the machines and/or cables to isolate and finish the group out until I can't even squeeze.

I have pretty strong legs so I don't really dread the squats (not saying I really like them either though  ), but the plank/pushups are the worst for me. Need to get my arms stronger! My core is getting there though.

Reminds me of basic. Something about a large man screaming obscenities and flipping spit all over your face... really motivates you to go that extra mile. I dunno.

I am with you on the jumping jacks! Except for me it is the chest that it kills... the girls bounce too much even with 2 bras on!

Running _ although I run 3 miles pretty much 5x per week BUT it feels good when I am done!!! Also I must say pull ups, I am very strong for a female (must be from all the hay bale throwing ) but I can not do a pull up unless I use the assist machine at the wellness center! I do not let it bother me though, I just do something else!

Thanks for the info. I will have to look into them, but seeing as I have already dropped 2 band sizes since Jan, I am not so sure I want to invest in one just yet. I have a ways to go. I will see if I can find a sale :)

LOL, we go from dreaded exercises to bras.
    =D

Mine are... lunges (I hated doing them, and being in the athletic-integrated PE class, we did them everyday), push ups, and... pull ups (I rarely ever do them, which is why I suck at them, which is why I hate doing them). Haha.

For some reason, I love every aspect of weight lifting. In a PE class full of stick-thin-super-fast-running cheerleaders and track stars, weight lifting was the only thing I really kicked butt at. =)

I hate, absolutely hate, bench press. My boyfriend played football all through high school and has some crazy arms. i don't want arms like him but seeing him do bench press makes my little 60 lb press look pathetic. (he does over double that--!!!) but he looks good doin it haha

    http://www.tabataprotocol.com/

I do the traditional (spin bike: 5 minute warm up, 8 reps of 20 seconds on and 10 seconds rest, 5 minute cool down, collapse in a sweaty heap).

it SUUUUUUCCCCKKKKS but man is it a good VO2 Max workout.
