What did you cut down on that helped you the most?

For me, it was sugar intake. Even though I was eating at my recommended calorie intake, eating low-fat and low-carb, I was eating way too much sugar. As soon as I cut down on my (absurd) sugar intake, I started to have more energy and the pounds started to melt off!

Worry. If done correctly, then shouldn't be any.

I cut down on carbs. I used to eat fruit and high fiber breads- oatmeal, bagels, english muffins, wraps, brown rice daily. I thought I was doing the right thing with all the high fiber and low fat.
Now I stick to around 100 carbs a day which I get from other foods.
I upped my protein to around 100 grams a day also. I started drinking protein shakes in the diff. flavors- delicious.
I don't worry about fat- I eat real butter, eggs, bacon, meat, fish, yogurt(plain) cheese, avacados and nuts. (healthy fats) I use almond milk unsweetened instead of milk.
I started losing fat right away. All the muscles I've worked so hard for over the years are starting to show!0 -
I cut out all caloric drinks, I dont eat breads or pasta, and nothing fried.0
-
rice.
I still eat rice , but i used to eat like over 6 servings daily0 -
Breakfast cereal. I stopped buying it. I LOVE cereal, and could easily plow through three bowls in one sitting.
Also pizza.0 -
Homemade Mac and Cheese. It was like 800 calories a serving and I would chow down on like 6 servings a day. Also takeout.0
-
Heavily processed foods. I was eating 1200 cal of low-fat, fat-free everything.. And wasn't losing weight. Now that my diet is pretty much all whole foods, I'm losing weight steadily0

Oil and processed foods.0
-
Emotional eating. (if that counts)0
-
Sugar - treats, in coffee, even fruit. Now that I'm in maintenance, I've added fruit back in, but that's it. I'm glad to be rid of that habit!0

Fast food stopped eating it period. If I go to a fast food restaurant I only get a salad or yogurt. (because of course my kids still wanna go all the time )0

Coke /soda I've been a year without it. that has helped me a lot. I have some other things I need to cut down on like processed food which is loaded with sodium and need to work on the sugar. eat more fruit veggies and healtheri snacks0

I cut down on alcohol, green, Mcdonald's and pizza!
I also cut down the negative thoughts I had against myself. This probably helped me realize I can reshape my life.0 -
Coke, fried foods and huge portions.0

This is an easy question.

I stopped eating so much fast food! I love me some Jack In the Box, but it makes my ankles swell up, lol! So, now we only eat ou once per week, and I get something (relatively) healthy. After my Biggest Loser weigh-in at work tomorrow, I will take a look at what I'm eating now and see what other tweaks I need to make.0

I didn't cut out cereal - in fact, I started eating strawberry mini shredded wheat as a meal (without milk). It's very filling and deters me from snacking.0
-
soda! i used to have 2-4 cans a day0
-
Um, food. I just stopped eating so damn much. Worked like a charm.0
-
Fast food, sugar and all drinks that were not water!0

Cookies and ice cream were my downfall! I suddenly realized I never over ate, but I ate too many cookies aqnd too much ice cream. A little over a month ago I started to track everything I ate everyday and increased my running. I knew I could not have cookies or ice cream in the house. I live alone so not buying them wasn't a problem. I have a can of peanuts on hand it case I get hungry in between meals, but my need is dwindling so binging is not a problem.0

I have not seen a significant amount of weight loss all in one time.
However, I have cut out Coke Zero, and try to eat everything in moderation.
I'm currently try to cut down on carbs a bit and eat more protein.
I'd like to watch this board for ideas...0 -
reduced carbs, portion control and stopped eating in night time0
