I listen to a lot of metal, but ironically not when I workout! The only metal I have on my running list are Static-X, Misfits and Ministry. Ministry is so awesome to run to....i'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet!

Not one AC/DC fan yet? Best workout music ever!

I'm old school too...and a bigger punk/garage fan, but when it comes to the gym: Motorhead, Pentagram, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Celtic Frost...old stoner metal too like Blue Cheer, Kyuss, Orange Goblin, Buzzoven and the Groundhogs do the job too.

    Acdc is top shelf!
  • I wouldn't say I'm a 'metal head' but I do listen to some Ozzy and Ac/dc. Lot's of classic rock as well, blue oyster cult that kinda stuff. Ooooh and newer like Underoath, street light manifesto, Like moths to flames. I guess I like a lot of different stuff :)

When I do exercise, I do videos at home so unfortunately I don't listen to anything but what's on the TV; however, if I were to work out to music, just like a lot of other people on here, I LOVE the eighties hair bands - Metallica, Poison, Whitesnake, Guns-N-Roses, Ratt, Poison, etc. etc. Thank God for Hair Nation on Syrius! :)

And never without Rammstein, HIM, and CKY.

Oh good, I was hoping someone else would say Rammstein.

Rammstein! Seen the twice and met them (except for Schneider). I also like Amon Amarth, Satyricon, FFDP, Judas Priest, Nightwish, Rob Zombie, a little bit of everything basically.

I prefer ebm and industrial for cardio e.g. Combichrist, silizium, Icon of Coil, Covenant etc

Once the annoying cardio is out of the way then the mp3 player goes on random. Main bands include:
    Rammstein
    NIN
    Arnocorps
    Manowar
    Judas Priest
    WASP
    Korpiklaani
    Wintersun
    Turbongro
    Viking Skull
    Amon Amarth

    and so on :)

I generally workout to specific types and genres of metal. I prefer faster, more upbeat stuff like traditional metal (Maiden, Dio, Priest, etc) and power metal (Hammerfall, Alestorm, Rhapsody of Fire, Manowar). Sometimes I'll go with something more evil and aggressive like black, death, thrash, or viking. If I'm going for a leisurely walk, I'll put on some doom or atmospheric metal like Candlemass, Novembers Doom, Agalloch, or Lethian Dreams.
Basically I'll workout to any metal, but it usually depends on my mood what I'm going to have on.
