I am glad I am not the only one with whiny kids--I always tell the oldest (6 year old) that if she gets her work done we can do something that she wants to. Does she ever finish? No. So we have been stuck at home lately. Of course it hasn't been too bad because I have not been getting done exercising until about noon--I need to get started a lot earlier!

I actually made no bake cookies last night for my husband--I have not made treats or cookies for a long time. They didn't even look good to me and here I am not snacking after dinner. Amazing!

WTG! I wouldn't even be able to resist the dough. My daughter and hubby brought me Subway to the hospital last night for supper. (I refused to go home. Self catheter myself-not!). Anyway, she was so happy she saved me 1/2 a cookie and wouldn't take it back, so I ate it cause I knew she wanted to make me "feel better". Otherwise, I've been pretty good. I'm sore, but so glad to be home. My hubby had brought me some mini tootsie rolls for last nite, and instead I had some grapes and gave the candy to the nurses today! Yay me-High five! I was proud of myself for not opening the box. Just taking it easy. Really missed my laptop too while I was away-how pathetic. So I can walk lots for now and that's about it for 2 weeks, so I'll have to be sure and do that and keep watching my eating. My Mom asked me what she could bring over for me for tomorrow, and get this....I told her a big SALAD. So she laughed and said she'd do that along with some bare chicken for my hubby to b-b-que. So that's my excitement. Hope you guys are having a good weekend and thanks so much for the kind words. Kath
  • Reallllly stupid question here but what day are you guys weighing in? I was trying to go to once a month weigh in but I think I need to go back to once a week or at least every other week for a few months. I'm still losing weight but I can tell that it's not coming from where I want to because I'm not really working out. My shift is changing in a few weeks and then again in October. Hopefully I can find a way to fit in exercise for both shifts. I'm so looking forward to it cooling off around here so I can get back to walking my daughter!!! My big girl is 1!!! And I have lots of birthday cake leftover... I think most of it is going to work with me but I don't go back to work until Monday this week! Hopefully I can start getting myself together more this week now that all of the Birthday festivities are done with! Have a great weekend, guys!!!

Well the lightest you are in a month as with water levels, etc., is th 7th day after your TOM. Weigh in the am, after you've gone to the biffy, and are buck naked. Take the cake to work and rid yourself the temptation!:drinker:

Sounds like everyone has had a busy week this week.

I have fallen off the wagon this past week. Yesterday was horrible, i ate and ate and ate and did not excercise.:explode: Part of the problem is the church carnival we are going to everyday:grumble: . WOw what bad food, can't wait for it to be over today. I did run for 45 minutes today  so that helped. I really need to get my butt in gear and get back on the wagon.

Phew! Today was a day! We took the kids to the zoo and walked for about 3 hours. The boys had a great time as did hubby and I. Favorite part was watching the full-grown polar bear using a ball to help him float by hugging it followed by letting it go to splash the crowd. There really isn't much difference between a bear and a kid - both love squeals of laughter

I told my husband that just 4 months ago I probably would have been worn out given the heat and 5 miles of trails, but I did really well. In addition, I was pushing the stroller with either 35 lbs or 64 lbs in it depending on which kid was taking a turn at getting a free ride! I'm feeling really good about it all! :drinker:

Another day of wonderful memories made

OMG blue team what a weekend my hubby and I had. :grumble: Friday night/saturday morning about 12:30am I had to bring him into the ER because he had a horrible mirgraine to the point that he was throwing up. So we were there for about 2 1/2 hours. I don't do good in the ER let alone my husband is the worst that I think I have seen him. I can't call really anyone because its so late. What did I do?? Well of course I went to the gas station got a fountain pop and some bad snacks. I walked back and forth and ate. Then we finally got to go home only to go back again at 1pm saturday afternoon. I was atleast able to call people however when you are in the ER you don't want a bunch of people there. So I went down to the kitchen and got another pop and a muffin. Really my only thing to eat that day. I walked some more and demanded that they did some blood tests and a CT scan. I couldn't believe it. I didn't eat very well at all and didn't get exercise in. I slept a whole lot. I'm back on eating right again tomorrow. That is for sure and I want to try my new DVD Jillian no more trouble zones or whatever its called. He goes back to work tomorrow and works an hour away. So I'm hoping all will be good. O BTW all the tests came back GOOD. and he is feeling better. I just felt so bad for him. I do have to say however after loosing as much weight as I have when I felt full I stopped eating. :drinker:

Ohhh, very very bad day today-all around. First of all, I had a bad sleep last night. Secondly, and oh so awefully:cry: , I wish I could have died today. Let's just say, I had a flash back from 20 yrs ago, 3 days post birth my oldest son, with an episiotomy and an oh so sore bottom, 14.gif ....need I say more. My dog and cat didn't know what to do with me, they rolled on their backs, hung their heads, and kissed me. :smooched: Needless to say, with only some relief- I am alive and still intact. I had my hubby buy me some chewy candies to cheer me up-talk about emotional eating. I hope THEY don't make things worse, although that would surely turn me off of them! Still not exercising of course, which doesn't help either. I may go to the lake on Wed. to catch a break from this bed, and move to the next. I hope it gets better. My nutrition is definetly gonna to be more on alert, although fiber has never been an issue. Well, time to lie down somemore, and hope for a better day tomorrow.... :blushing: :drinker:

Well its almost 11pm because someone forgot to exercise today. It was really warm so I finally got it in. I'm going to look at my HRM right now and see how many calories I burned. 429!!!!:drinker: I'm very excited. I did the Jillian Michaels no more trouble zones. I only made it about 20mins. I'm sure the normal person could have done the whole 40 mins but OMG I'm dripping sweet(sp) and im tired. I still have to put my calories in for the day. I think I will be fine. Tomorrow I'm going to have to watch it however and I think I'm going to give my body a break because I will be sore from that workout I'm just going to bring the dogs for a walk at night. :drinker: I hope everyone is doing good. I'm trying to stop the pop habit yet again. I have done it before now I have to do it again. UGH. :grumble:

    Happy Weigh In Day everyone!

I'm holding "steady" this week according to the scale, no gain/loss.

Have Day 2 of Week 3 C25K planned for over lunch. I'm hoping the shin splints won't cause a bunch of problems, but will probably hang out on week 2 if they do until the muscles build up a bit more. No sense pushing myself too hard and risking a bigger injury. If anyone has any suggestions on how to treat/deal with splints, I'm all ears.

I agree - if you injure yourself you won't be able to continue!

I've slacked on running recently - I upped my strength and I can't run day after strength - my hips are too sore....gotta get a set schedule starting in a bout a week so I'll be ready for my 5k.

If anyone can get back into a groove it's you!

I've slacked on strength recently since one of my classes is on hiatus while the instructor is on vacation 3 weeks (tough life!). Plus I don't feel like I'm doing as well when I do strength as I seem to burn half the calories I do with cardio. I get that's normal and strength is important, but it's not very motivating when I work my tush off (there's a lot to work off  ) and I get measly little numbers on the HRM.

I know exactly what you mean, the numbers mean the world to me, even though i don't eat my excercise calories, i still want to see high numbers. It is frustrating when they keep getting lower and lower as i loose weight and i have to work harder to get those high numbers.
