I gave up Diet Coke, I know that was part of my problem putting on weight, but now I don't know what to replace it with besides water. I am not giving up caffeine all together, that isn't a big deal to me, but I don't drink coffee and I don't like tea, what can I drink? Anyone have any suggestions for something that isn't high in calories that doesn't have aspartame in it?

I gave up Coke and now I drink water, tea or flavored sparkling water.0

There isn't a lot of choice if you don't want a drink with aspartame and don't want tea or coffee.. and want low calorie so not juicing your own. Maybe green smoothies? I don't know. Unless you make your own juice or buy organic and add water to it.
I drink lots of water, coffee and tea.0 -
i was a soda FEEN !
i gave it up, a lot of headaches though for the first week.
now all i drink is ... water, v8 juice, and the occasional iced tea, or apple juice.
it takes 21 days to create a habit, or rid yourself of one.
so after 21 days, you shouldn't even want anything with caffeine.
but if you must need caffeine, try an energy drink.
not too many though as they are bad for you.
but i don't think they have many calories.0 -

Try to find "Rose's Lime Cordial" and add it to Club Soda... a Tbsp or so... fizzy lime drink with about 20 calories I think. No artificial sweeteners.0

Why would you recommend this to someone that wants to quit drinking diet soda?

I will have an occasional energy drink now and again. It isn't the caffeine that I have the problem with it is the crap in DC that I don't want to put in my body any longer. I dislike the taste of tea and coffee, not a big fan of juice either. I drink a ton of water but was looking for something else to substitute when I want a little bit of flavor. Has anyone tried those vitamin waters?0

i used to drink loads of coke.. thought i couldn't live without it. i gave it up completely a year ago.. now i only drink water and unsweetened tea with a dash of semi-skimmed milk. i also drink smoothies made from nothing but fresh fruit. i don't even miss fizzy drinks one bit!
try it just for a while.. you will be surprised how you adapt to it!0 -
Try green tea straight with flavored ice cubes. Freeze some fruit juice (REAL JUICE) in ice trays, make your tea and go from there.0

Add lemon ginger and mint to your water and drink it really really cold
I also read that if you take one drink of a sugar drink swish it around in your mouth and spit it out before a walk it tricks your brain into burning more calories. Your brain tell your body to get ready to metabolize the sugar and when there is none it burns fat. That might be your fix.0 -
I LOVE Sobe's Fiji Apple Pear. I haven't tried any other flavors but take a sampling, they're only a dollar per bottle. I'm not a big tea drinker either but Lipton's diet Green Tea with Lemon is wonderful.
There is a million choices if you go into the grocery store and just look at the soda isle. I'm sure you can find some drinks or flavor powders that you'll enjoy.0 -
There are other teas
rosemary tea
and peppermint tea
to name 2
what's best is you can grow them yourself, pick and brew as desired.
they don't taste like black tea
they taste like
rosemary
or
peppermint

maybe because i'm not a certified nutrition instructor.
was just giving an opinion, she could have looked into it ?
if someone gave me advice, doesn't mean i'm going to just follow it.
i'd look into it.
also, she said she doesn't want to give up caffeine, but doesn't want to drink soda, tea, or coffee.0 -

drink sparkling flavoured waters from supermarkets - the ones that are supermarket own lemon and lime sparkling water or other flavours - only 40p a litre and taste lovely - all different flavours and tastes and all barely any calories in. i need my fizzy.
plus its much better for you than diet coke as it doesnt have as much of the rubbish in - its just spruced up water. morrisons' pear and elderflower is a personal fave0 -
Water with fresh fruits- lime, lemon, orange, strawberry, kiwi etc

LOL! Glad someone else is as ballsy enough to correct spelling & grammar :P0 -
one of my favorite things to drink is iced tea without sugar. certain flavors work perfectly as iced and seem sweet even though they aren't, for example blueberry or peach.
i also love love love carbonated water. the thing i was addicted to with soda was the bubbles. the sugar was secondary. now i get the bubbles without the sugar. win: win!0 -
coffee, tea, water, anything! as long as you get over the slump, you'll stop thinking about it and caring entirely. trust me, i've been obsessed with it for the majority of my lifetime, sometimes i would drink 5 of them a day and not even bat an eyelash. now we still have a bunch of it in the house, and i just don't even think about it.0
