Hey everyone! I started to really train for my 5k this week...my legs feel like rocks after today :grumble:

It's also my first week back in my apt cooking my own food. I've been going to the farmer's market so I have a ton of fresh veggies and fruit! Tried eggplant for the first time...grilled it and topped it with parmesan and tomato sauce. It was amazing!! I'm eating a yam today for dinner...no idea what the difference is between yams and sweet potatoes (I always ate sweet potatoes) so we will see.

Yet again amazed by my loss...pretty consistent with the 2 lb losses!

Hello my friends ... I don't think I'm quite awake yet ... just wanted to say hello ... I'll stop in again later when the foggy head clears.

    Hi all,

Happy Thursday and I hope you are all having a good week. Have steady faith in yourself and you can do anything, it just takes time.

Anyway, I am excited today because I reached my first 20lbs lost today and I have already surpassed my goal of being 235 lbs by my birthday next week. I weighed in today at 233.4 having started at 253.4 on June 26th. Woohoo!!!!

I am on vacation next week thank goodness so I can get more active and hopefully drop a couple more, maybe even make it into the 220's. I work a desk job during the week and sit at a computer for 8 hours a day so it is hard to be active during the week.

Well, take care and be good to yourselves!!

    Happy Friday All!!!

Well I got a busy week ahead of me even though I am on vacation as of tomorrow. Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday and she will be turning 11 and since I am the one carried her for 9.5 months and gave birth to her, I am treating myself to getting my hair done (dyed in varying shades of brown and black). Part of her present this year was that she got to go to an educational day camp for 5 weeks. She enjoyed it since they are high on the edutainment factor while still learning something valuable. Got her some clothes, the DVD '17 Again', and a cell phone (that can only dial 6 phone numbers that I program into it). Since she is pretty spoiled this year we aren't having a big party, just a small family BBQ.

We are also going to go visit my sister out of town for a couple of days, pull up all our patio stones and redo the patio, my birthday is on Thursday, build a shed, switch all my files and software to my new computer, hopefully go hiking a couple of times... and the list goes on.

With all that activity I hope to lose at least a few lbs that week...lol.

Well, take care and have a great weekend!!!

Good Morning ... IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! So as you know I was planning a killer hike to the beat of some groovy new tunes on my iPod on Wednesday night but then my DH said as I was about to leave ... "If you wait 'til I'm done eating I can walk with you". Well who am I to discourage him from getting some exercise right? It's so interesting walking with him ... it's like being with a child with ADD. We've lived in the Niagara Region for all of my life (and he's been here for a good 40 years) and when I walk with him it's like he's never seen it before. I love it ...he's always "Hey, look at this, isn't that nice?" or "How cool is that?". Needless to say, the hike that usually takes me about 40 minutes took almost an hour and a half. But you know what? According to my new fangled HRM I burned the same amount of calories anyway ... it was the same distance but it took longer to get it done ... so I now know that I can leisurely lose some calories once in a while so I can stop and smell the roses. Last night I finally got out and hoofed it to the iPod ... very high energy and so much fun. Well, I best get back to my job before they fire my tookus ... have an awesome day all.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Friday! :flowerforyou:

I'm pretty excited. I've been working out like a mad womand and watching calories like a hawk and I just HAD to weigh myself this morning to see what's going on and guess what????

CW 176.7. YAY! Of course this is not my weigh in day so I don;t want this to really count on the spreadsheet but it's encouraging to see.

Congratulations!!! Great job on the mega exercise. :flowerforyou:

I actually weigh myself everyday. At this point it is to see what foods are working for me and what aren't and to keep myself accountable. If the scale goes up a bit I am not concerned or stressed in the least since weight will fluctuate on a daily basis and because it is coming off in the long run.

Take care and keep at it!!

Well I am also on the exercise like a mad woman track. I am starting to train for a half marathon in October, so it's run, run, run for ME!
I am down only a half a pound this week but I am ok with that. I hope next week I can get back to 174 where I was before vacation!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! It's sort of rainy here today.

Thursday night was bad. I ate everything I could get my hands on. Spoonfuls of nutella, nutella on graham crackers, peanut butter filled pretzels, 2 pans of zucchini fries, and maybe more-I can't remember...it's all a blur. I drove through McDonalds to get a vanilla cone and their machine was broken! Good thing! I didn't even record it because it was pointless.

It's okay, we all have our moments. The important thing is that you get back on that wagon and start over again today. You've only got 10 pounds to go! That's nothing compared to how far you've come. Good luck this weekend and don't give up

Good Morning all ... what a scorcher it is here today ... big time high humidity. I've got to figure out some kind of fitness thing to do today ... maybe I'll wait and see if it is better in the evening. So the hubby and I went to the Fallsview Casino last night. We don't gamble but we went for Dinner at an all you can eat buffet restaurant they have there (I stuck with salmon, veggies, and allowed myself a low sugar apple rhubarb square with some fruit on the side for dessert ... mmmm), then took a short walk around the falls, and then went to a show called Twist & Shout. All in all it was a lovely evening. I think there's some kind of party going on tonight but I'm not sure ... why is there so much disruption in our lives during the summer? Any who ... just wanted to pop in and say hi to you all and wish you a lovely weekend. Take care of you.
