It's hard... Especially when your sitter cancels on you! (mine just canceled for tomorrow) I try doing as many physical activities w/ my son as possible. I've only been trying to get healthy for a month now, but so far we're doing ok!

I am a single mom to two boys, ages 12 and 16.... you would think that because they are older, I have all the time in the world to work out and be healthy. NOT

Both of my boys play several sport, and some of them travel (hockey, lacrosse, and basketball).... so I am always on the run.

I am not trying to focus on being fit and healthy.... I used to be the hot mom.... then I was the chubby mom. I am ready to be the hot mom again!! LOL

I've got a 17 mth old. It's hard, but I know it will be worth it. :D Cheer to everyone!
  • I am a single mom of 3, all boys, 4, 8 and 11. i have to work out waaaaaaaaaaaay early in the morning or in the evening after they go to bed. Its hard to work out when they are awake. Seems as soon as my foot hits the treadmill they start the fighting or need me for something. Now that its summertime though we are in the pool a lot. So i should start working out in the water. Add me!!

*Standing In Praise* YES! I work full time, attend school part time online, and am a mother to two boys (12 & 10) who are active in sports, which means any HOPE of free time disappears! LOL!

I've found that finding time is easier done when you incorporate them. My oldest son struggles with his own weight issues so for him and I to do things together actually works out well for us. We do A LOT of Wii Fit activities, we've taken family Boxing classes, now that it's summer we swim, I also found a children's gym...which I think is GENIUS, wish they had one closer to me!

I go into work early (7am) and therfore normally get off early enough to exercise before I get home...when I can find the energy to motivate after a long day. My son and I are just starting evening walks which will be great, and if we stop at the bball court to hoop it up a bit that'll be even better!

I'm just recently a single mommy. My fiance and I split up after 4 years. We have a 2 year old son! I try to exercise as OFTEN as I can when he's at his father's house. I could use the extra motivation! You are welcome to add me!

    Hi ladies!

I'm a single mom to a wonderful, and VERY energetic 2 year old boy! Thankfully he LOVES to be outside! I try to find time right after work to run on the days his father has him and then do SOMETHING when he is home with me. Not always easy when a 2 year old's play is so stop and go. LOL

Feel free to add me!

I'm a single mom to 2 boys, 12 and 14. I completely agree with the person who said you'd think it'd be easier the older they get. But it doesn't, at least for me, lol. Both are active in sports and between work, school, and my kids I don't have time for much. I'm either having to drop them off, pick them up, or break up a fight between them. All of our family (including their father) lives in another state, I don't really have any friends here so everything we do, we do on our own and I don't have anyone to help out. I usually get up before they do to work out. Plus I know if I wait until afternoon or night to workout I won't do it.

My kids are both on the heavy side even though they're very active. I don't push them to watch their weight but they've been making better choices and I think it helps a lot that I don't buy a lot of the junk I used to. And now we're all trying to be extra active so it really helps me out when I don't feel like doing anything and they bug me enough to take them to the park, lol

Have been a single dad for 4 years. Am happy to be so till the kids grow up. Its difficult to fit in time as I work about 60 hours a week too. Using this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It has been so easy to fit in because it takes 2 minutes a day to put in the food I have eaten. And because eating less calories than I use means I cannot fail to lose weight I dont need to find time to exercise yet. I will do, I'll need to so I am not just a skinny mess...Once I get down to +2 stone off my ideal weight I will start hitting the gym, thats when the fun will start :)

Good luck to everyone on here single or otherwise.

Me! But my youngest is 17 so not sure that still counts. I do however understand all the many years of putting the kids first. Now mamma needs some time to take care of herself.
My advice is not to wait til your kids are grown to start taking care of yourself. You are worth it and your kids deserve a happy and healthy mom.
