What's the best mistake you ever made? I had this asked to me in a job interview. I never had thought about it before.. What is yours?

Choosing to do music A Level. I failed it, had to do retakes, went to University in a different town a year later than planned, and met my now husband as a result :)

Interestingly enough, not fighting harder to save my (first) marriage.
Once I saw those divorce papers, I really thought about not signing them and fighting for the marriage.
I signed them anyway and, for about six months, I second guessed my decision.

It turned out for the best.
  • Going home with that one guy. Yea, I was that girl. Still together 1 1/2 later.

Nothing wrong with that. We all have done that. Thats a good mistake. I never was that lucky with those things.

Falling pregnant with my son (too much champagne, not enough precautions, old enough to know better... 'nuff said!).

He's fourteen now, utterly gorgeous and shaping up into a very fine young man, and having him in my life has enriched it more than I can possibly say (well, him and his younger sister, who was planned with military precision!).

I always say that he was 'an accident but not a mistake', and I'm very lucky to have him :-)

The best mistake I have ever made.... would be finding this site....seriously, lol

It was a complete accident I found this site instead of using spark people

Typically i would say that if it was a good thing then it wasnt a mistake... mistakes give off a negative feeling IMO

Kinda cheating on my first boyfriend. It sounds like a terrible thing, but I ended up with my current boyfriend because of it. Over two years later, and I don't regret it. I wish I had gone about it a different way (broken up with the first guy first instead of leading him on) but I'm happy with the result.

I took a wrong turn and ended up stuck in a driveway. The guy who lived there is now my husband.

Not using a back up method to bc pills while on antibiotics. Lol Got pregnant after being together for only 5 months. Still together 7 years later. I've done some dumb stuff in my life but I'm proud of this one.

I wouldn't say it was my mistake, I blame it on the Trojan company. But I have the sweetest 2 yr old daughter anyone could ask for because of it.

    Agreed!

My biggest mistake, to some people, might be choosing to retire after my knee injury from football and not sucking it and playing. I had to think about my future and i knew if i kept playing football, i would not have a healthy future. All the choices we make, right or wrong, has lead me to this point in my life. Learning from past mistakes is the greatest thing we can do to over come them.

Dropping out of college. Well, putting it on hold really, since I'm going back in August hopefully. If I hadn't dropped out and moved back home, I never would have dated my husband. Things worked out way better than I could ever have planned it.

Lol after my then high school girlfriend broke up with me, I dated one of her friends.

Best mistake I ever made ?

I ended up back with my first girlfriend now my wife of 6 years, been together for 10.

If I wouldn't have done that and become friends during that relationship months later after that break up I don't think we would have gotten together again like we did.

Not too many people can say they broke up with their current wives 10 years ago dated their best friend and then ended up back up with their gf then got married.

I was an a hole yes, but it built a stronger friendship through the psychotic craziness.
