    Mornin' girlies! I had a good week. Although, when I stepped on the scale yesterday I was 181 and today was 182. I would have been happier if it had stayed at 181. But I'll still take the 2 lb loss:drinker: I think I'm weighing myself an hour or two earlier though, because my son has an early driving time today, so I'm already up and eaten. I had oatmeal and Fage yogurt today. I wanted to be up early to eat it, since I'm planning on c25k after dropping son off for driving. I wanted enough time to pass so I don't have a rock in my belly.

    Cathy, new week, new attitude. C'mon girl, you can do this!

    Yay for down 1 lb.!! Would have liked a little more but I shouldn't be greedy now should I? I'm happy with 1 this week! It was funny when i updated my ticker I accidentally hit 132 instead of 152 and MFP flashed up some message about you've lost more than 10 lbs. since your last check-in blah blah blah and i'm like, no, pretty sure not but thanks. haha, made me giggle this morning.

    Hope all are well today, Cathy hang in there, new week new motivation!! Robin - kudos to you for 2 lbs. yay!!!! :drinker:

    Goals today are to get the water in and make smart food choices. Going to Panera for lunch with a friend before I leave town so I plan just to get a salad and water and hopefully that doesn't put me over too much.

    I found this great quote today from former First Lady Nancy Reagan. I thought it appropriate for those of us that might be going through some rough patches or for those of us that are getting back on our feet and back in the game. Never forget how strong you are ladies!!

    I am happy. I only gained 0.2lbs this week. :bigsmile:

    (For all of you just tuning in, I have been dealing with a horrible separation and now possibly reconciliation with my husband. It's been baaaaad. As a life long compulsive overeater, I seriously ate almost nothing for a week. Dropped 10-12lbs in that week. It was BAD. I have never in my life NOT eaten. Never. I was worried it would turn into an eating disorder so I've been slowly reintroducing food back into my diet, KNOWING I would gain weight. But in order to work out, I had to eat. In order to eat, I needed to work out, lol. In other words, I would gain some weight back before I could drop it again -- and I have. I have gained a little weight but went to the gym last night. I have NOT developed any eating disorders and I am very content right now, knowing I came back from that. I was in the deepest darkest depths of despair. ..... And now back to your regulary scheduled programming!)


    Cathy, like you said -- it is what it is. You backslid. Many of us, if not ALL of us, have been there. Do not focus on yesterday, focus on TODAY. Today is what counts. And you WILL get back to healthy eating and exercising and loving life. You have the great new place and the fenced backyard and that cutie puppy (who needs lots of long walks!!) and a hubby with a jobby. :wink: Life is good. Crap gets thrown at us but we are resilient, we are strong. Keep posting. We are here for you!! (((hugs)))

    AmyLou, a pound a week is 52lbs a year! (Not that you have that many pounds left to go, but you know what I'm saying :wink: ) Have fun at Panera!!

    Maggie, you've seen such significant weight loss that a 1/2lbs during your TOM really equates to weight loss!! :drinker: Next week will show a better gauge. Keep up the fantastic work darling! Hope you are loving your HRM. I cannot live without mine. Had it for 1y2d now, haha.

    my name is falha and my weight is 210...as of yesterday, Monday is my check-in day. I think ths board will help to motivate me because we all do need a motivation to help us reach our goal...and this board seems like the perfect place.

    I am down 2 pounds from last week...but i hope to keep seeing the scale going down.

    Welcome Falha!

    If you look back through the thread, you will see how we list ourselves with our weight loss goals. We update by bringing our name from the bottom of the list to the top of the list. Your SW would be 210. There are 5 weeks left of the challenge, so how much do you want to lose? We usually recommend 10%-15% of your total weight left to lose, or whatever number you feel comfortable with.

    Hey everyone, i know its the week two, but i am trying to find a motivating group and you guys seem to be a pretty exciting bunch! My name is Melinda, and as of this morning I weigh 155 lbs....which is a 1 lb loss for me! yay! Just wondering how this group works.....thanks....:happy: hope its ok that I join late...

    I maintained this week, but considering my TOM came yesterday, I'm happy with it! I just need to keep exercising, watching what I eat (for the rest of the day - took my son through McDonald's drive-thru for breakfast this morning :frown: ) and drinking all my water! :drinker:

    I was slammed with things last week and didn't get to post much. I hope to be on here more this week. I love the accountability, support, and inspiration from this group.

    Lost a pound! Yahoo! I need it to be 2 but 1 is better than none! I have really been focusing on portion control so far. I have not started in on the regular exercise though. I think that is what I will have to focus on this week. Getting in a 45 minute walk along with squats, lunges, arm work.

    For those who are doing the C25K, could you describe the program a little for me? I may be interested in doing it but would like to know how gradual it is and how many times a week you have to do it. Being well over 200lbs I am not sure I am ready yet but would like to be some day, plus I hate the sensation of my flab bouncing...ick... if I have to run.

    LOL its Melinda, spelled with an E not an A....hehe.....I am from Ontario, Canada, and I am a nursing student....im going into my 4th year of school, and my last....so im pretty excited about that....cannot wait to be a nurse.....other than that, ive always struggled a little bit with my weight, i gained a good 50 lbs in the last 3 years, i was in a very terrible relationship with a guy, and found myself eating all the time to make myself happy.....luckily i left him last year, and have been happier than ever. I started last september at 180 lbs ( my heaviest) and am now down to 155 lbs.....i have realized that losing weight takes alot of work and is slow in the process, but i am happy with that because i have kept all of the weight off! I have a new boyfriend, since december, and he is amazing, he has really helped me with exercise, and we go to the gym together almost every day....which is great because he really motivates me.....overall my goal is to weigh 130 lbs....which leaves me with approximately 25 more pounds to lose.....either way....that is myself in a nutshell! and I am excited to get started with yous!!!!! Good luck for all your weigh-ins today!:happy:

    That is great that you were able to take so much off already and got yourself out of an unhappy situation with your ex. Awesome that your current BF is being supportive and understanding. It always helps to have a support system.

    a little about myself. well, where do i begin?
    i am happily married for almost 15 years to a wonderful man. hubby and i have three adorable children together 13, 12, and 3. I am an Early and Elementary student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree. I have always been over weight. i would lose weight but then i get side tracked and it comes back...i recently lost 40 pounds and gain 10 back. i found this website hoping it would help me lose my 10 pounds and some...:grumble:

    i started the begining of july and happen to lose 4 pounds..it not much...but i think at it this way...it better then nothing....i am tired of being fat and that is why i need some kind of support system...it is very hard to do something (w/o the help of your family) alone...thank god i found this board or post...not sure what's it called.

    my daily routine...fill out my food log on mfp..and my exercise log...then cross my fingers and hope to stay on track...some days are better then others. btw, i will be going on vacation and will be back next friday (8/21)or saturday (8/22). so i would not be able to weigh myself until i get back..however, i will watch what i eat and exercise everyday...even if tht means walking outside for 30 minutes.

    i hope i didn't put everyone to sleep with my boring story...but that is my life and you asked for it...lol:wink:

    You can find the program on coolrunning.com, and it starts you out slowly. The first week, you run 1 minute at a time with walking time in between for 8 intervals. The next week it is a minute and a half running, six intervals. Third week is 1 1/2 minutes interspersed with 3 minute runs, for a total running time 10 1/2 minutes. I'm on week 4, which is 3 minute and 5 minute intervals. Even though the weeks are numbered, and they say you can get through it in 9 weeks, you can take as long as you want. I've redone a couple of weeks now. If a minute is too much to start, make up your own program with half minute intervals :wink: . I found a site, not that I can remember the name, that actually had a walking program that then led into the running program. It taught speedwalking. There's a couple of c25k threads on the MFP forums, and I would suggest checking those out. I wouldn't let your weight be an issue, there's some other heavier people on there (heck, I was 190 when I started it). Just make sure you have GOOD shoes.

    Ok, so I gained two pounds in one day, can we say water weight? Wow! I hated seeing that on the scale this morning. But, I did my SHRED workout this morning, so I still feel good.

    Welcome to the newbies! Congratulations on making a really positive move for yourselves by seeking out the help and accountability of others who are experiencing some of the same highs and lows you are. Way to go!

    Have a good night ladies! I am excited to be going for a massage and foot scrub this evening while the kids are at VBS!!! No, I haven't reached some wonderful weight goal that I deserve treating for, but I am here with the kids alone until hubby comes home at the end of September, so I am treating myself anyway, plus it was my birthday six days ago (not sure how many more things I can treat myself to and still be able to say that :wink: ). Anyway, I am looking for my haiku book and as soon as I find it, will post some more of those.

    I was somehow bumped back down to the bottom list, so I'm posting again. I'm over my cals by about 250 tonight, but I haven't exercised either. I've only gotten half my water in, but I know I can get the rest in before bed. Especially if I can get my exercising in. :smile:

    Good evening all ... I just got back from a hike at the Woodend Conservation Area near my house. I did 45 minutes and according to my new HRM I burned off 359 calories. I always thought the hikes burned off more then Turbo Jam Party but apparently not. Things that make you go hmmmmm. Well ... it's almost 9:00 pm here in Niagara, Ontario so I'm going to some dishes for fun, then have a shower, then off to bed. I'm pooped tonight.
