Thank You for this list!:) And P.S.....If Dr. Oz is where you got this list from then more power to ya because I happen to love Dr. Oz and think highly of his opinions :drinker:

Some examples of poor advice that Dr. Oz has provided in the past...

    ...

It's best to take any advice he has given with a grain of salt. Do your due diligence and investigate other sources for validation of anything that he has said.
 Or you could just respect the fact that different people believe in different things..to each his own.
Sharing facts in regard to Dr. Oz's quackery is disrespectful? Well, I'll be darned.

Dammit, I only got to 12. Guess I'd better ask Dr. Oz for the other 3.

Not a very smart person at al...but from my journey ( just a small town girl livin in a lonely world...sorry about that) I have noticed that the more muscle I gained the more I lost/ energy I had...so i have assumed that muscle actually causes metabolism erections....not a scientist though :)

I have seen some of those muscles and I can say they do cause erections ... science or not  :drinker: :drinker: :smokin:

The Media Pigasus Award goes to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has done such a disservice to his TV viewers by promoting quack medical practices that he is now the first person to win a Pigasus two years in a row. Dr. Oz is a Harvard-educated cardiac physician who, through his syndicated TV show, has promoted faith healing, "energy medicine," and other quack theories that have no scientific basis. Oz has appeared on ABC News to give legitimacy to the claims of Brazilian faith healer “John of God,” who uses old carnival tricks to take money from the seriously ill. He's hosted Ayurvedic guru Yogi Cameron on his show to promote nonsense "tongue examination" as a way of diagnosing health problems. This year, he really went off the deep end. In March 2011, Dr. Oz endorsed "psychic" huckster and past Pigasus winner John Edward, who pretends to talk to dead people. Oz even suggested that bereaved families should visit psychic mediums to receive (faked) messages from their dead relatives as a form of grief counseling.

Thanks but I do my research and do investigate many other sources before I lock my opinion on it :flowerforyou:

Of course, taking advice from someone who is self-dubbed "GasMaster" is NOT one of my life goals.

I did take the time to look up some metabolism boosting articles, and found a reputable one.

Nor would GasMaster expect you to, which is why he provides references. :flowerforyou:

I, for one, never trust anyone in a witch hat.

If you would like I "could" provide you with a ton of references, AND studies that prove certain foods DO boost your metabolism, but this whole thing has gone way off topic. This person was simply offering out some advice that she believes in and supports, everyone has different opinions, everyone believes different articles and studies but does it REALLY matter?? Even if none of these foods DIDNT boost your metabolism, they are still excellent sources of good foods to be eating, so what does it hurt? If they do boost then you will get a boost, if not, you will be healthy. There was no reason to slam this person for offering good advice to people, if you didnt agree then you could have been nice about it instead of a jerk and said something like...While Im sure your intentions were good, I personally would have to disagree with this because.... and leave it at that.

I don't watch television so no, I didn't get this from dr. Oz. Several sources, including webmd, mayoclinic, and a few others (doctor/nutritionist) have all provided valuable and credible resources that prove several of these DO give you a boost. If you spent more time working out and less time acting like a bunch of assclowns on a thread that was provided as a helpful tool, then you probably wouldn't need myfitnesspal.
