Funny...music has been mentioned over and over, but not MTV specifically.

I know we all loved it, but not necessarily what it has become. :ohwell:

    I want my MTV!

Yeah back when MTV played videos!!!

The Hair bands - Cinderella, Slaughter, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot

This!!! I was a definite hair band fan and dated only headbangers back then. Something about guys with long hair wearing leather ... Nowadays I thank God for Hair Nation on Syrius! Priest, Ratt, GNR, Motley Crue, Poison ... ahhh, the good ol days!

To me, the 80's were like the 50's to my parents, and back to the 20's for my grandparents...fun, with fun times!

I don't see the 60's and 70's as the same, and I don't see the 90's and 00's the same. To me, the fun with society is cyclical occurring every 3 decades or so. Too many stresses in between... I see my kids now having the time of their lives in the 10's. Its almost a mirror image.

    I loved the 80's!

I seen this and it sooooo made me smile. In the 80's we were having 50's & 60's dances. Now the kids are having 80"s dances. THATS CAUSE THE 80'S ROCKED!!!!!! Class of "87"

I loved the 80's. It was a decade of firsts:

    first date
    first love
first - uh, well you know...
    getting a drivers license
    first concert

    Plus the music -

    Prince
    ZZ Top
John Mellencamp (I'm an Indiana girl)
    Van Halen
    Genesis

    AND VIDEO ARCADES!

    - The Labyrinth
    - Willow
    - Punky Brewster
    - He-Man (Cartoons had some kind of moral message rather than just superfluous stupidity).

    Movies!!!
  • Ooh, well other than the fact I was born in 82 which gives me a brilliant excuse for loving the 80's. But I think... big bright hair, big bright clothes, you could wear what you wanted and nobody gave a crap.

Then there's the music... I thank the 80's for bringing me my favourite band Depeche Mode and all that cheesy music that even when we hear now we know all the words and sing along loudly... Or is that just me :ohwell:

But the films... WOW! Ghostbusters, Weird Science, Lost Boys Beetlejuice, Back to the Future, Goonies, Labyrinth, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Howard the Duck... I could go on!
