i'd rather not eat back my calories in treats or anything like that though. and it is because of the mixed answers here, some people are saying that there is no need to log the exercise if its before eating for the day and others are very strong with logging all of the exercise done and eating back all of the calories.0

i'm bumping this bc i got mixed answers and i'm still a little confused. i'm going to the gym tomorrow BEFORE i begin eating for the day and i'm still not sure if i should log the calories burned or not....0

You're still expending energy no matter what time you do it or if you've already eaten or not. Log the exercise calories (but maybe just 75% or so if you're going off the machines and not a heart rate monitor yet. And eat them! You're already in a deficit with mfp's calculations and, in my opinion, it's better to eat more calories if you can still lose weight doing it.0
