Can I say, "I am 5'2 and I do NOT carry my weight well." haha We have to eat less, and don't burn as much exercising so maybe us shorties are a lil' jealous??

Also, I think it may be a weird compliment they are trying to give you.

LMAO! I LOVE your profile pic!!

It's just jealousy. You are fit, they aren't, and they are looking for an excuse because they are lazy. I hear another form of this all the time "oh, you just have a good metabolism" or "you have good genes. I can't lose weight because it's genetic." That's a load of BS- I look good because I work hard and am careful with everything I eat. There is no magic cure, people just don't want to put in the hard work. It's the same for you, you work hard, they are stupid and want to blame their own laziness on something else.

I'm the opposite... i am 5 foot tall and when I say my starting weight was 155.1 people say "oh you weren't fat"... i was considered OBESE by BMI and felt horrible all the time due to medical problems starting from the weight! I guess many people just see a number! I am now a size 2.. people criticize that clothing size all the time too!

Very annoying...... <end of my rant>

there are all sorts of double standards and annoying statements regarding weight.

my goal weight is 110 because i'm short. in fact, 110 is on the high end of the range of weight i should be. 95 pounds is actually ideal. yet i hear all the time 'are you sure your goal weight should be *that* low?' from taller people. um, yeah, i'm sure. you (general you) might look skeletal at that weight; i will just look normal. :)

sorry that the phrase 'you carry your weight well' is annoying to you. i think it is meant to be a compliment.

If a short person gains 5lbs it's very noticeable. If a tall person gains 5lbs it's not that noticeable. That is why us short girls say this to tall girls. We are just jealous of how you distribute your weight.

I'm 5'0". I was 125 and people told me I was big. I'm 113 now and I still don't look thin, just average.

If I were to gain 5 pounds, TRUST ME, it would definitely be noticeable. When I gain weight, it goes to my face fist so it's super noticeable.

I don't know I think it's kind of/sort of true for me. It's not about being tall though. I have this annoyingly long torso for my height. I'm just shy of being technically obese (my BF % is not low, btw), but my co-workers and friends never believe that when I say it. I hide my weight fairly well. I could gain 20lbs and people probably wouldn't notice it. Even the weight in my face gets hidden by the beard.

On the flip side, getting rid of this damn belly fat is taking for freaking ever.
