what is your #1 tip for weightloss?

it isn't supposed to be easy, so don't bother looking for the easy way out.0

I agree with the OP...if I need to make a quick change, I drink water and nothing else. I love my soda, but if I replace soda with water it literally does so much more than save 150 calories per can. It makes me feel fuller, I eat less, and I crave healthy food like veggies and fruit. When I have soda, I crave salt.0

Be patiet. You didn't gain the weight overnight, and you won't lose it overnight. Weight loss is a marathon, but so rewarding and worth every minute. Every step you take in the right direction is a step towards a happier, heathlier you.0

Take the blinders off and be honest with yourself.
This may look like two tips but it's one. I used to think I was a pretty heatlhy eater and was just fat because of genetics. HA!
I know there are some medical conditions that hold others back but trust me, this was not the case for me, I just ate WAY too much and hid the junk eating so well, I even fooled myself. Tracking helps but even with that, if you're not truly honest about your portion sizes and those little snacks you sneak in and that drink after dinner, it will add up and ruin your attempts at weight loss. Exercise helps too but again, it only counteracts some of it.
If you're not fully honest, the only person you're hurting is yourself.0 -
If you had to give your #1 tip on how to drop fat for an overweight person, what would it be?
Mine is - make sure you are drinking water, not calories.
Try to be consistent, but don't stress every calorie from every day. Food is not evil.0 -
Be CONSISTENT. The difference between a true champion and an occasional winner is CONSISTENCY.

Yep....I like this better. Consistency is and was the key factor for me. I already drank lots of water. The next would be your journal.:)0 -

Small changes! Loosing weight is easy. (I know, I've lost hundreds of pounds before, only to gain it all back.) I really feel like the reason for that was I was trying to change too much, too fast and it was not sustainable. Too often we want to change everything at once, then get frustrated with it because it's so different than what we were doing before. Make one simple, but effective change and continue to follow through on it. Once you have mastered that change, you can add another simple, but effective change.0

~Eat/chew food really slowly (so that your brain has a chance to tell when you are satisfied) & stop eating when comfortable (not full).0
-
Small changes make a big difference.
Move more, eat less.
Never give up.
You didn't gain it over night so don't expect to lose it that quickly.0 -
- MEASUREMENTS!!! - - I really cannot stress that one enough.
- "Weight loss" pictures once a month.
- Drink lots and lots of Water
- Watch what you eat (the saying you are what you eat is TRUE!)
- Also watch serving sizes. Meat portions should be about the size of your closed fist
- Mix it up every few months, your body starts to remember and therefore you hit a plateau.
- Combination of Cardio and weightlifting produces the best results.0 -
I'd have to say the amount of food you eat, alot of people may disagree but when I only ate 1200 calories a day, I def lost weight......0
-
Log your food BEFORE you eat it - and LEARN to LOVE water!0
