Okay, just finished Disc 2 of Return of the King, and can I just say.... I've lost count of how many times I've seen these movies, and I STILL boo-hooed through the last hour of the movie, starting with the death of Theoden. Oh, that gets me every time....:brokenheart:

You know what always gets me? "My friends. You bow to no one."

I usually manage to hold it together until then but that always chokes me up.

Oh, definitely! Up til that point it's just leaks in the emotional dam. Then, when Aragorn says that and the music starts to swell, the dam breaks and there's no holding back the flood then. Theoden's death is just what puts the first crack in it.

taters? what are taters? YOU KNOW! PO-TAE-TOES!!! mash 'em, boil 'em, put 'em in a stew!! LOL

we usually watch them every Summer! during the school year, as I have my morning coffee, I say "my precious" and look around to see if any kids are laughing... some get it!!! hahahahaha

The one that got me laughing tonight was in the scene towards the end when they're at the gates of Mordor trying to create a diversion to buy Frodo some more time. Aragorn, Gandalf, Gimli, Pippen, Merry, and Legolas had all ridden out to meet Sauron's emissary. There's some discourse, then he holds up Frodo's shirt of Mithril, implying that Frodo has been killed. Without saying a word, Aragorn rides right up next to the emissary, and, while he's still talking, just lops his head off. Then, very calmly, Gimli says, "Well, I guess that concludes negotiations!"

Oh, yeah! You know how Gimli and Legolas are always competing to see who can get the most kills during battle? I had forgotten about when Legolas kills the Oliphaunt and slides down the trunk to the ground right in front of Gimli, then he looks at him like, "I'd like to see you top that!" Gimli says, "That still only counts as ONE!"

I have always thought it would be cool to live in a Hobbit house. I love the round doors and windows. But the river Elves buildings were cool too.

I love their relationship. But I think my favorite moment with them is right before the battle of Helm's Deep.

    Gimli: What's happening?
Legolas: Shall I describe it to you? Or would you like me to find you a box?

Just the way Gimli laughs after is awesome!
