When can you trust yourself again

that's a very bad relationship with food, or junk food in particular... that you have to avoid them or you'll lose self control.... it's like drugs!! this won't work in a long run.. maybe you 've been avoiding them for too long.. you should let yourself eat anything if you feel like it. that's life!! you should enjoy yourself... or anyone really.. this is such a complicated discussion.. but i wish everyone good luck.. including myselF!
I see what you are saying, but some people are addicted to junk food and it must be treated like a drug addict. You can't tell a drug addict to try a little if they want and have fun. I suppose it's hard for people who don't have the problem to even comprehend the feeling. It's not about being a glutton, it is a physical problem.0 -
I finally was able to trust myself once I broke my sugar addiction. Since then I can have all sorts of junk foods, sweets, etc. in the house and I don't go crazy eating everything there is.0

Wow, you all are amazing and so wise. I wish I could reply to each and every one of you. THANK YOU. I am taking all your wisdom and keeping it with me as I continue this journey.
I agree about the therapy, actually, therapy was the big reason I was able to drop the first chunk of weight, and then we did more work and I got to the part I needed to get to to allow myself to be happy and healthy and well, which is what I'm doing right now.
Took many years to even get to the place where I was ready to change.
Therapist said tonight, once you have used to food as an emotional crutch, you will always be in danger of using it again.
And indicated that I will always have to log my calories/food to stay in a zone that is healthy.
And yes, I for sure log EVERYTHING always. That helps me lots.
I love the idea of logging before you eat it.
Also loved:
Eat. Move. Be Free.
I think I will learn to trust myself more, but right now gotta keep away from the trigger foods.
Am feeling better already, getting on the nor**** track in a minute and eating in a way that feels better for me.
NO MORE NIGHT BINGES!
Thanks for all your fantastic feedback and sharing your stories and what helps for you.
Great stuff.
You guys rock.0
