Uh oh. Welcome to the dark side. It's fun here. We have tasty snacks and cool running gear! ;)

Seriously though, props to you. Great pace for your first time back to running. Holy crap on your 545 pace!! I can only dream of being that fast!!

I'm not gonna lie. I'm very competitive...I find myself competing w/ myself lol...I wish I could sustain a 5:45 over a longer distance...but I do want to get to that time...next run Wednesday morning.

I'm the same way. "You ran 12 miles last weekend, see if you can run 12.5 this weekend"....I get all mean trainer on myself in my head!

You have to be...u have to be able to push urself because your not always gonna have somebody to push u. Compete w/ yourself and you'll always have a challenge on your hands lol
  • Having a bad run only motivates me to run faster and harder the next time. It took me a long time to be able to run without doing walking breaks. Now I am so proud that I can do 5km without walking.

Once I pushed past all the horrible first runs, nothing beats the runner's high. Love that feeling after running where you feel like you could run forever. Your legs hurt but you don't want to stop. You are dripping in sweat, but you've never felt so good or happy.

    Love it.

I have bad knees and I notice they hurt even more if I run every day. So I try to run one day, swim the next. Seems to work for me so far.

Nice, you found a way to modify. I'm a fan of moderation. I haven't made it to 5K level. I understand the knee issue. My left knee is a lil jacked up and usually hurts after a while. I have to be careful w/ it.

    On another note...My legs don't hurt...but I have a plyo workout 2nite and I run tomorrow morning...we'll see what happens :D

Nutrition is moot for the shorter stuff. I do all my runs on an empty stomach or I get crampy. I run marathons on an empty stomach.

Arc really? You don't get shaky legs or anything when you do that?
