I am currently on my period and since I have gained one pound and have been stuck there for the past few days. Do you gain during your period? And if so, how much for how long?

Actually no, I don't really but I think I'm unusual.
Just don't weigh in that week.0 -
nope...i tend to lose more actually. lol im a freak.0
-
Always. I do not weigh in that week. Regardless if I workout/eat right/up water in take I gain.-1

oh my yes, usually right before, but I try not to change anything. Usually gain 5-7 pounds, usually go back down to normal, plus loose more, but dont change anything: diet or exercise0

With the exception of Rae here, most every woman retains water (bloats) on her period. This causes the scale to go up.

I usually gain 2lbs but they go away after as long as I dont give in to my cravings too much0
-
I usually gain about 3 pounds - lots of bloating, and also I tend to crave more unhealthy foods. If I can survive the massive cravings for chipotle burritos and reeses peanut butter cups, my weight is back down 1-2 days after my period ends.0

I do, About 2 pounds or so..0
-
Yes, generally it's a pound or two.. I won't go near the scale the week before or the week after0
-
I'm usually up 5+ pounds early in the week, but drop back down to my original weight by the end/middle. I usually end up losing a few too.0

I put on anywhere from one to six pounds with my period, depending on my sodium intake, whether I've been on an airplane, how active I've been, how hot it is -- tons of factors. I never record my TOM weight. It's interesting to watch it go up and down, though! -- The whole gain/lose cycle takes about five days to complete, depending on the same factors.0

Some months yes and some no. This past cycle...5lbs!!! Measurements were the same but scale was up. Went away after 4 days.0
-
Yes. That seems to be happening to me also. (Gaining). But it seems to come off again a couple of days after its all done. I tend to not weigh myself when I have it. That way I try to avoid the unnecessary frustration. Hang in there!0

I gain also. about 2-3lbs. But if I eat right and workout during my period I lose the bloat weight plus 2--3lbs extra0

I no longer have that problem. Thank the Lord!!! :drinker:0

Yes I normally gain 2 lbs. But if I stick to my diet and exercise I will lose after TOM is over. Which is always a good surprise.0
-
Yep! Water Retention for sure! down the water!!!0
-
I will gain anywhere from one to five pounds during that time. I try to avoid the scale a few days before and after.0
-
Always gain!0

I almost always do, usually the week before anywhere between 2-6 pounds, but then end up losing more during that dreaded week!! The key is not to stop anything you normally do, exercising and drinking lots of water, that is what I have found out anyway! Good Luck :happy:0
-
Yep! Like others, usually about 1-2 pounds .....But afterwards it comes right back off.. I attribute it to water retention and ... possibly eating some things like.. chocolate.... lol All within my calories *of course*.. but the sugar doesn't help!0

I am the same usually but I have noticed that if I exercise more and I am eating right then I will gain only about 2-3 versus the 5-60 -
Just water retention. It starts 3 days prior and stop towards the middle.0
-
I gain the week before and during when I am bloated (1-3lbs that just sits) and then as long as I stick with healthy eating and exercise during, I usually come out of it a few lbs lighter than before. Hormones :eye roll:0
-
I don't normally gain but tend not to lose either, I think with me it's water retention as it seems to come off more the following week0
-
great post because I got really worried last week and thats partically why .0
-
I feel so bloated I would never dare step on the scale. I already feel like crap and don't want to feel even worse!0
-
I always do about 2-3 lbs. sometimes it comes off right away and sometimes it doesn't.0
-
I do... Definite water weight for sure because I am pretty strict with staying at or under my calorie goal for the day. When my period is over, I tend to pee a lot and then I see my real weight the day or so that it ends. Don't torture yourself and weigh yourself that week!!!0
