I only got defensive with two people - one who tried to give me advice without reading what I actually wrote (And yes Niner. She is obese.) And the second who told me to admit I was asking for myself, and not to "bring HCG TO MFP". I wasn't bringing anything to MFP. I was asking a question. I'm not a salesman. I haven't taken the stuff myself, and I didn't know anything about it, so I asked. And he chose to be a jerk.

Everyone else, I thanked for their comments, suggestions and honesty. I knew there would be people on both sides of the fence, which is why I chose to ask my question here. I'm not judging anyone. There are people on this site for all different reasons. To gain weight, lose weight, maintain, gain muscle, reduce BF%, lower their cholesterol, etc. There are people who eat 1200 cals a day, and don't eat back their exercise cals. There are people who eat 2200 cals a day, and eat back every calorie they work off. Some people take vitamins, some don't. Some people have tried wraps and pills and shakes and zumba and HIIT and jogging and walking and lifting weights. Some people do WW or low carb or EMTOWL. To each their own. It was JUST a question.

    Dear Posters,

MyFitnessPal strongly recommends that our users follow the calorie guidelines automatically assigned by our site, unless they are under the direct supervision of a doctor. We are currently reviewing the medical literature on the HCG/500 calorie diet and reserve the right to moderate against discussions of this diet at any time in the future.

Thank you all for your concern. We're definitely looking closely at this issue.

    Sincerely,
