My sister's ex husband was a vegetarian so if we did a BBQ we would take a whole portobello and season it like it was a hamburger. Whistishire sauce, liquid smoke becareful very strong, some sort of pepper onion garlic blend some kosher salt and grill it. Broiler would work so would a grill pan, or sautée pan. High heat don't burn. You can put a bun on it make it a burger. Or carb free you can take another mushroom type make a sauce with low fat chicken or beef broth chopped mushrooms little corn starch to thicken (glutton free) the same spices used on the potabello, cover with sauce add parsley and diced green onion. Salt to taste.
I also buy specialty salt like truffle salt. I can't have a lot of salt so truffle salt help give a flavor boost to things even when the salt is bordering on bland.0 -
take stems and gills out, bake 350 for 10 - 15 minutes
top with crushed tomatoes (seasoned with garlic and basil)
turkey pepperoni
light mozza cheese
bake again until cheese is bubbly....OMG!!! so good!0
