Do you go to bed hungry?

I do (on a good day) but this is because I am used to eating at night. After dinner.
After nearly a year of dieting I am guessing this is always going to be the case... I still get hungry after dinner...

A snack snowballs for me. I always overdo it.
I'm an all or nothing kind of person.0 -
I usually go to bed full.0
-
Nope....i eat when i am hungry.0

Sometimes yes. Last night i did. Had my dinner salad around 8 by 930 i was feeling slightly hungry but i had water and went to bed around 10.0
-
Nope never, If you are going to bed hungry all the time you need to look at some of your food choices0
-
No I do not go to bed hungry. I also do not eat after dinner. I just make sure to have a nice, filling dinner. Dinner is my biggest meal of the day.0

I am always going to bed hungry, even with a good (big) dinner. if i snack after 7pm my scale goes up, if i go with out snacking at night my scale goes down. Im so tired of it! im always hungry even with a healthy "balanced" diet and exercise.0

Never if I'm craving it I have to have it.0

I usually save a couple hundred calories for after dinner, so I can have a snack. The crummy thing is that snack usually gets eaten too soon, I stay up to late, and want another snack. I usually don't eat right before bed and stay under my calories. Last night I was actually hungry and had a bowl of frosted mini wheats with skim milk. I went over, but not by a ton, and didn't feel guilty because my body was saying it needed food.0

That is my weakest time of day.
I used to put everybody to bed, then creep down and eat supper all over again. I love that feeling of having eaten so much you just hurt. That's the best :drinker:
Well, no wonder I was so fat.
I've had to change everything, but I still need to eat before bed, or I'll wake up and binge like a government mule.
My diary is open, so you can see for yourself, but I eat a snack before bed every night.
I am not saying this is optimal, but it's my very best. Lost 76 lbs so far, so fear not.
Just do your very best.
All you can do is all you can do.0 -
No. I eat if I'm hungry, regardless of when it is. I just try and make sure it's something healthier like fruit, with protein or lower in cals. If I go to bed hungry, I'm STARVING before morning and I know my body doesn't like to be starving or my metabolism nose-dives. I know everyone is different but being hungry doesn't work for me!0

yes all the time. i dont eat after dinner which is around 6pm. like you im an all or nothing person too. drinking water helps or sometimes i make some green tea.0
-
depends on the kind of hunger. sometimes I am hungry because I get little sleep and have been up 15+hours, smh. so I start eating at like 6 in the morning, but I'm up till almost midnight and have eaten all my calories for the day.
under normal circumstances, if I eat around 7ish or 8, i'm fine if i go to sleep at like 10.
my opinion, it's okay to go to bed hungry, but it's also okay to eat right before bed as well. your body is still working while your sleep (we breathe don't we) haha, so you're food will not magically turn to fat0 -
Almost always. I'm usually in bed by midnight, dinner around 5:30, I usually have some calories left over after dinner for a snack, which I try to have about 8 pm. But yes, always hungry when I go to bed.0
-
Nope. If I go to bed hungry, I get up nauseous in the morning. Not worth it, so I make sure I am full when I lay down at night.0
-
Nope. I eat a bowl of cereal before bed if I feel hungry.0
-
Nope never, If you are going to bed hungry all the time you need to look at some of your food choices
I think I will. Thanks.
Might start eating broccoli again and veges in general. Hope it helps.0 -
I usually go to bed hungry, that's just part of my plan. I read somewhere, can't remember where though, that's it's good to go bed hungry. Maybe it makes you want to eat breakfast more, I don't know, but for me it works out that way.0

Never.
I fast throughout the next day so i'm always going to be satiated.
Keep in mind that food frequency has very little effect on weight loss.
You can eat in bed and still lose weight as long as you are in a deficit.
I ate 1/4 cheeseburger and a bowl of ice cream last night.
I weighed before bed at 140lbs.
This morning I did my usual wake up pee and weighed in at 135lbs.
Moral of the story:
If you dont like going to bed hungry then save some cals and eat up!0 -
I'm almost always hungry at bedtime. Like a previous poster said, nighttime snacking snowballs for me so I just don't allow it 99% of the time. I go to bed earlier now so I'm farther from the kitchen!0
-
Try eating a few tablespoons of cottage cheese right before bed.0
-
Almost always I prefer it that way. I fast for 14 hours each day and I just function better if I place my eating window earlier rather than later.0
-
No. I can't sleep well if I'm hungry. That's the one time of day when I absolutely CANNOT be hungry.0
-
Hungry for what is the question? If the answer is man flesh then yes everynight...0
-
I can't sleep when I'm hungry, so I actually always have something between 10-11pm... usually have dinner at 5.30, so I always get hungry, and I actually save calories so that I can't go over my daily intake
Also another reason is I usually workout at night too, so I really do need it!
Heavy dinners won't work well for me 2hrs before working out, and neither does going without food for 16 hours or so because I'd be eating way too little that way every day.0 -
No, if I go to bed hungry I find I cannot sleep, or wake up in the night.
I eat a lot of my calories at dinner and beyond, since I tend not to go to bed until 2am or later.
I have organix rice cakes, a large pear and a bowl of 0% Fage Yoghurt with some protein powder, seeds and flax mixed in between dinner and bed, and this also pretty much counts as my breakfast since I am rarely up before 10/11am. It is part of my routine now. Some evenings I am hungrier than others, usually if I have done a hefty dose of cycling.0
