I am too old to care about name calling. Great place to be.
"Skinny". Awesome. Enjoy it. Am sure you can come up with a plausible retort to it.

People are unhinged by change - especially when somebody sets and achieves goals.
Your success is a reminder of their failure.
Be careful of who you hang with.

Sometimes our closest "friends" enjoy our setbacks and are jealous of our success.

Some people don't mean it that way.
    Some people are ignorant.
    Some people are jealous.
    Some maybe even stupid.

Don't bother to worry about it, as long as you have learned to look into the mirror and like yourself, you're on a good path. I'm still learning that almost every morning.

i love hearing people call me skinny lol

though i suppose it would be different for a guy.

Just deal with it, they will eventually get used to the new you.

I can relate to this... I get tired of people telling me I don't need to lose anymore weight. I am not a healthy BMI, I still have a roll (lol), and ultimately it is up to me. So say, hey you look great, but leave it at that!!

Yeah 70+ lbs lost is an insane difference, and perhaps to those who remember me larger I AM skinny, but I'm far from 'skinny' - thin, yeah, but skinny... nope.

YES!! I have people tell me all the time I don't need to lose more..

After I lost weight, instead of calling me 'fat,' people just call me 'balding.'
    I wish I was called 'skinny'. =\

I would love to be called skinny hehe, although for a guy to be called that isn't good...I'm assuming Pantera is a heavy metal band? Ack!!!

My friends say it too, but they just mean it as a compliment. They say I look good or other things, too. What KILLS me is when people say ... oh you're soooo lucky, I wish I could be skinny like you.

No luck in it. I worked my butt off!

Agreed, this wasn't handed to us, we have worked our butts off thru the good and bad. Congrats to you!

Yep I have a friend who started to workout with me, but fell off after a few weeks, and has the nerve to ask how I lost so much weight, going to the gym 6 days a week isn't always easy but the results are great with all the hard work

I agree that people say it as a compliment and they say it because they are used to the old you, but I find it so uncomfortable when people say it, I dont thnk I'm fat but being called skinny just makes me feel weird, and I automatically go to refute it

Haha, I've had that a few times. Doesn't bother me much, though, as I know I'm not skinny and never plan to be!
