    I have digital kitchen scales. I weigh everything on it. Even when it says half a cup. I measure it out on the scales to get a more accurate reading. Although its metric so sometimes I have to convert it to imperial on the laptop.

    One of the things no one has mentioned yet is a food saver machine. I buy my meat on sale, scale out portions and then individually freeze the portions. I can then pull what I want from the freezer and know it is exactly right. also great when I am going to a BBQ. I just grab mu portion and bring it to throw on the grill. The Food saver bags prevent freezer burn!
