    G'morning ladies!! :)
Food is planned for the day, NOT going to the gym. I'm taking a full recovery day, and then starting the Turbulence Training 4 week program. We'll see how THAT goes.

amy, my sister's like that too. she can fxn on 3 hrs of sleep. not me--i'm a 9-10hr sleeper.

I used to be able to function on 3 hrs of sleep. Not since I passed 30. I have to have at least 6 to function ... I won't be functioning well, but I'll be functioning on some level. I prefer 7-8 hrs.

I ended up lying to everyone & myself about when I was going to sleep. My 12 1/2 yr old Great Pyrenees was having MAJOR issues last night with her back hips. :brokenheart: She has severe arthritis and couldn't stand up on her hind legs. I was helping her and on the phone w/ dh about what to do for her. By the time I finally got to bed at 1 am, she was at least able to walk. Not well, but she was walking.

At least I got some good exercise last night! Cardio & strength training! I was using a beach towel to help support her hind legs.

do you ever cruise around the other posts? not the team threads but random "discussions"?
my oh my people can be snippy! :noway:

but i got a chuckle just the same--and that's why i come back to this thread over and over. we're nice to each other.

have most of the food ready to cook for tonight. baking's done. and now i want to go exercise a bit to help offset the high calorie food i will be ENJOYING for the next couple days.

hope you all have a GREAT friday and will check in after the holiday.

I've noticed that about some of the other posts too. They can be entertaining at times. I like this thread too because we're nice to each other and no one blames you for mistakes you may have made. We all understand that knowing what we need to do and actually having the will power to do it are two different things.

Well, my son turns 7 on Sunday, so I'm going to have a house full of kids tomorrow for his party. He wanted a science theme w/ Bakugan decorations. DH is playing scientist w/ them at the party, going through some kid science experiments. I'm baking his cake tonight and decorating it in the morning. I couldn't find anyone who had a Bakugan cake kit, so we're doing a dinosaur cake. I'm going to wash some of his toy dinosaurs to use as decorations on the cake. I hope it works ...

Stacey & Angl, enjoy the holiday!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well ladies, I do have a pretty bad upper respiratory infection and I am on drugs and ewww they leave a bad taste in my mouth:grumble: Doctor told me no running or working out until I quit coughing :noway: Bummer!

Amy--Happy Birthday to your little guy! My son turned 7 in August so they are pretty close in age! Hope he has a good bday! and sorry about your puppy

Stacey-- I do cruise the other threads sometimes and it is incredible how some people think they "know it all" and love to preach. There is a lot of information on this site but some of it isn't always right. I love this thread cuz we are supportive and nice to each other. We also understand the struggles we go through trying to work ourselves into our crazy schedules!

Stacey---I am not Jewish but I would like to wish you a "Happy New Year!"

I truly feel that you ladies are my friends and appreciate all the support I get from you :flowerforyou:

Angiered---Good luck with your new program! You can do it!!

    i couldn't stay away!

lettuce--so sorry for the diagnosis--and are the meds sulfa based? that may expl the bad taste, right? on the + side, you can at least start to get better for real. i'm sorry it hit you so hard and is taking extra long to recover. :flowerforyou:

and thanks amy and lettuce for the happy new year wishes. you really touched my  . i know are friendships are the irl-kind, but i feel like we let each other into our worlds and are rewarded just the same.

i enjoyed services today and the kids liked the children's program a lot. hooray! and my in-laws were here, too. i was so glad to have their company. and my kids were thrilled to be with them!

well, it's late and i should get to bed. tomorrow dh is working (we won't get into how annoyed i am about that) and the kids and i will be at synagogue. (mind you, we are not very observant Jews--i mean the kids went shopping at Target this afternoon and I did tonight after all were in bed..--but i still wish he would be there with me tomorrow. i underst why he has to work, but i also wish he understood how imp his presence is to me and his children.) in any case, we will enjoy this second day of the holiday. i have some afternoon projects in mind for the kids, too.

i hope you all had a wonderful today and that tomorrow is great too! drink that water!! 'night

Happy New year! I'm sorry your hubby can't be there. We just finished three weeks straight of my DH working 18 hour days, 7 days/week. It was SO hard to have him gone all of the time like that. (He's back to a 40 hour week now, thank goodness)

How's everyone doing on those ~ahem~ bad habits?? lol

Stacey---I totally understand how hard it is when you want your hubby to be there with you and the kids. You know he has to work but it still is frustrating and hard.:frown:

Angiered--- wow! that is a lot of 18 hour days! Glad he is back to a 40hr schedule....

If you don't mind me asking ladies....what do your DHs do? Mine is in IT and mostly has his clients in DC so he goes down there on and off.

My nose is still running a lot but I am feeling much better with more energy.
Stacey, I am taking Biaxin. Have taken it before...it is a pretty broad spectrum antibiotic. I am afraid I am eating junk just to get rid of the yucky taste :grumble:

Hopefully I can start working out slowly this week. We have had beautiful weather this weekend here in the nations's capital so I have been outside a lot running around with the boys. Feels great to be outside and I love this time of the year. Fall is wonderful here with the leaves changing and the crispness in the evening air.

Hubby made me homemade bean soup this evening and it tastes wonderul...yeah, having a glass of red wine with it

I have missed you all and hope to post more this week

hi girls! well, i have finished the last of the blondies--i ate myself silly this weekend! it's those *&^%$ desserts i inhale :grumble:  (both feelings compete within)

i'm not down on myself b/c i know it's a limited time/quantity thing. but still...

angie, as for those bad habits--well i did fine during the week re: cookies etc. but more than made up for it this wknd. water was so so. some days really good and some days i didn't drink enough. and ff--well i had it at least one night (i think jus the one) so that was a success.

i did ab ripper x 2x this week. and since it's only 5 pm here, i can still get in more exercise later. maybe kenpo x and then abripp. (that will cancel out 1 blondie!).

and angie--thanks for the happy new year wishes, too. the girls made shofars during the childr's pgm and are thoroughly enjoying blowing them at home!

as for dh's job---he owns his own business. he runs a trade-show company here in vegas where he designs, sets up and dismantles, rents, and stores trade show booths of various sizes. basically, a small business owner.

lettuce, biaxin is very effective also b/c it has anti-inflammatory effects in addn to the antibiotic work it does. hope you feel real relief real soon.

alright...time to check back with the kidlets--enjoy your sunday evening and we'll chat tomorrow!

I know, and WITHOUT extra parts at the end!

Stacey, that's funny. The company DH works for actually designs and builds that kind of stuff. (They just finished up Nike's new mobile pro shop.
  • hi girls.

i am rejoining the world at large again. i can get so busy at holiday times it is crazy. i read all the posts since last wednesday so i am all caught up.

lettuce - happy birthday. i hope the meds have kicked in. hows caden feeling?

amy - thanks for the holiday wishes. how is doggie?

stacy - glad to hear you had a great holiday.

angie - nice to meet you.

well the holidays were pleasant but very busy. i packed up two of the meals and brought everything over to my in-laws and we ate there . as i mentioned my father in-laws wife is really sick so they really apprieciated the effort. mostly drank my water - with two of the meals i had diet drinks (my father in law wanted to "treat me" so he bought diet coke and diet tea for the meals i brought over.)

last wed and thursday cooked all day, did nothing else (except eat lots of junk food). once the holiday started the eating basically came under control again .fri - sun walked at least 45 min a day.

i don't want to get on the scale to see if i was able to maintain my weight. i'll just wait and do my usual friday weigh in (which i skipped this past friday.)

are we adding a new habit to this week or should we give water one more week to become an engrained habit?

btw - my dh is a total workaholic. he thinks 110 hour work week is a slow week.
