Ladies- How many cals do you eat?

I am along the same lines, I eat 1200 and don't use my exercise calories normally, because in my eyes you want your exercise to stay negative so you lose better.
^this. Think of it as being similar to a car. You must refuel your car in order for it to keep going. You must refuel your body in order for it to keep going....0 -
MFP has me set up to eat 1330 a day. I usually am within 100 calories of that (over or under) .... when I workout out I eat back most of my calories but not all.
I am 29 years old, 5'0 tall and weigh 180 lbs.0 -
I usually eat between 1500 and 1800 a day; I also work out at least 55 minutes every day. Five days a week, I'm doing 90 minutes, including stretching.
So far over the last 8 weeks, I've lost 1 inch from my upper arms and calves, 2.5 inches from my waist and hips, and 3.5 inches from my thighs. I'd say I'm coming along nicely.
I want to lose about 180 pounds. I've got a long way to go, but it's coming off steadily.0 -
I net 1500 cals, but I am in theory maintaining. I don't lose on that amount, in fact I have gained slightly int he last 3 months.0

When I first signed up a year ago, MFP put me at 1200 - I lasted about 4 days before I wanted to kill someone.
I was eating 1400-1500 (and eating back some exercises calories) for most of my weight loss. Now that I'm moving towards toning and maintenance, I've increased my calories to 1700, with a goal of 2000ish.0 -
Said my piece. Not turning into a discussion, debate or argument, so I'll not get into that fiasco, thank you.
To the OP I addressed in my quote: believe what you want. You'll find people that tell you to eat too little, people that tell you to eat too much, and some of the babble may well be right but it'll be lost in the stream of conflicting views. If you're succeeding with your 1200, fair enough. I wish you all the best.0 -
I have mine set at 1450 and I eat back my exercise calories0

I have been on MFP for about a year now, I am 44, 5 ft 10" and started out weighing 273 lbs. I started eating a net 1200 a day, and have always ate back most of my exercise calories (although I don't trust the burn on MFP for gym machines so work on the basis that I burn 200 calories for every 30 minutes worked).
When I reached 80% of my target weight I upped my daily net calorie intake to 1460, but I only actually eat at this level on my rest day, the other 6 days of the week I end up eating between 2200 - 2500 calories a day. I work out for between 90 - 120 minutes a day, a mix of cardio and strength training. I eat a lot of protein and eat 5 meals a day plus snacks (I have a sweet tooth).
When I hit 90% of my weight loss, I will up my net daily calorie intake further.0 -
You are too tall to eat only 1200 calories, and you should eat what you burn while working out. I am 5 feet tall and I eat around 1200 calories, but it makes sense, due to my height and pathetic little work outs.0

I'm eating 2400-2500 calories per day to maintain my weight! When I was trying to lose I was eating between 2100-2200 calories per day!
your body definition is my goal you look great!
and for the OP, I eat anywhere from 1700-2000 a day. I weight train heavy, and run 3x a week. Sometimes I go over 2k every once in a while.0 -
I eat between 1500-1900 calories, usually it's around 1700. I my cals set at 1400 calories and I do not eat back all of my exercise calories, only 300-500 of them. I exercise 1300 calories worth daily.
In June I lost 11 pounds Haven't weighed myself in July yet.
Last weigh in I was at 203.2, goal weight is 130 pounds. Starting weight (in January) 238, 214 when I joined MFP in June.0 -
Between 1,900-2100, I workout 6 days a week, weight train and a little cardio.0
-
it's so nice seeing a lot of the responses are people eating more than 1200 lol... i try to NET my BMR (1430) so range is from 1450-1900/day0
-
1800 a day is my MFP goal and i exercise at least 5 days a week. I have a lot of weight to lose. So far it's worked. I found out i lost nearly 8 pounds today.0
-
Right now 1900 +exercise calories to maintain (before 2300 +exercise calories to gain)
(I'm 5'4", currently 106lbs)0 -

I try to eat 1600 a day and don't eat my workout cals. But still no weight loss0
-
1400 minimum-1700 max...bmr is 16890
-
mfp assigned me t0 2100 because i currently put myself into maintain mode until my vacation is over with this month.0
-
1200 and a workout? Yeah, I agree.
I eat about1500 a day, whether I workout or not. I don't believe the body functions in discrete 24hr periods. :-)
This!
I try to stay around 1500-1600.0 -
Between 1200 and 1300. And I don't eat back my calories either...0
-
I'm set at 1690 right now. I eat back exercise calories. It's been as low as 1360 (yuck, that sucked) and as high as 1890.0
-
I was eating 1250 but didn't lose anything. Now I eat 1,720 a day (with exercise 1 - 3 days a week) and I've been losing weight pretty steadily. I started this a little over a month ago.0
-
I have mine set to 700, but that was when I didn't move at all. Now that I'm going to the gym every day (sometimes twice) I'm starting to realize that holy crap is that nowhere near enough.0
-
I'm 5'6, 29, my BMR is 1676, and I set my MFP to 1500 , I exercise maybe 4-5 days a week (depending on time and how much I hurt. I try to come up under my calorie limit...0

I'm 5'5" and started MFP at 175 lbs. It originally told me I could eat like 1300 calories. There was NO WAY I was going to keep doing this on that low of a calorie amount...so I upped it.
After trying 1400 and then 1500 and still being hungry and/or irritable, I set my start calories between 1650-1750 - and ate back all my exercise calories. So, I estimate that I was eating about 1800-1900 calories a day. And that was hard for me.
I've always been a big eater. I figured if I was netting 1650-1750, that had to be better than what I was probably consuming before (more than likely 2500-3500 calories a day).
But as much as people said it may not work, it did. In 4 months, I lost 25 lbs.
I currently have it set at a base of 1800 and I usually eat back the exercise calories. This means, I eat anywhere between 1800 and 2400 a day. Since it's so close to maintenance and I often "go over," I've been maintaining for the most part. That is what the scale says, but my clothes seem to be looser and my shape seems to be getting more defined. I still have about 10 more lbs to go, but I'm in no hurry. And truth be told, if I stay the same weight but lose inches, that would work, too! heh.
As for my workouts, it ranges. I generally work out between 4-6 days a week, ranging from 20-60 minutes each time.0 -
I'm right where you are, size-wise...5'7" and 173 pounds. My calorie goal is set at 1230, but I probably eat anywhere from 1200-1500 each day. I typically exercise 40 minutes a day, 5 days per week and burn 250-450 calories. I've lost nearly 8 lbs in 5.5 weeks.0
-
I try to eat around 1200 a day. I exercise 6 days a week. No I do not eat back my exercise calories. I know that is probably not the best thing to do but it works for me. I have around 10 more pounds to lose by doctor recomendation.0
-
I eat 1700 + exercise calories if I can!0
-
I'm 5'9", 165 pounds and I workout 5 days a week for half an hour. I eat between 1800 and 2100 a day. When I stick to it I lose about a pound every week to every other week.0
