I haven't tried this before (actually put some bananas in the freezer today for precisely this purpose!) but I heard on here that if you freeze a banana then blend it in the blender it tastes just like soft serve ice-cream but is way less calories/fat/bad stuff-hope that helps, I'm a guilty snacker myself!

    Guacamole-hummus
    Ingredients:
    • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
    • 1 or 2 Chile (optional)
    • 1 (15 oz.) can of chickpeas, drained
    • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
    • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
    • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
    • 2 Tbsp. tahini (optional)
    • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 1 tsp. cumin
    • 1/4 tsp. salt (more or less to taste)
    Method:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Add in a few extra tablespoons of water to thin out the consistency if you’d like.

Another great banana treat is: cut banana in half. If you wish put the stick in the "cut" end. Roll the banana in ground cinnamon until covered. Put in the freezer for a couple hours. Great treat.:wink:

For the banana "soft serve" - you could add a bit of honey, cinnamon, nutmeg or cocoa powder for a more decadent treat. Puree some nuts or nut butter with it too if you like.

There are lots!! ( I saw you're allergic to nuts, so here's a few of my other favorites!! )

-- Greek yogurt mixed with fruit & chia seeds, or granola

    -- watermelon, cherries, blueberries

    -- carrots / bell peppers / hummus

    -- protein shakes

If you REALLY actually love to sit and "snack" (I'm guilty of it sometimes!!) I LOVE veggie straws / chips! There's a brand called Fresh Finds that I get at Big Lots (of all places!) the veggies straws are super good and satisfy that need to "sit and snack" :)

Just yesterday I made a batch of hummus (search allrecipes.com for hummus, mine was the curried hummus, also the smoky chipotle is SUPER delicious) and did the math to see what what a reasonable portion. I divided it into 6 portions and went ahead and put them into small containers. I cut up 2 whole bell peppers, bagged them, and threw them back in the drawer. It maybe took 15 minutes but I have 6 snacks ready to take when I am otherwise without time.
