Fridge Staples

Options
Anyone care to share what they keep in their fridge and can't live without?
I am starting over here on MFP and a former WW'er.

Thanks.

Do you keep fresh cold water in a pitcher?
You might also try fresh veggies that you know you will like (lite salad dressings if you need a lil motivation to eat them.)
I like to keep bananas, apples and graham crackers in the house too.

My roommate lost 50 lbs and doesn't keep desserts in the house/fridge at all.

    Good luck and have fun!

Since starting a healthy way of eating, I've banned all junk food, and sweets from my kitchen. My son takes his yummy bad food into his room so I don't have to look at it. The fridge now pretty much just consists of skinny milk for me, fat milk for him (he's trying to bulk up), low fat ham, thawed chicken, a LOT of fresh veges (I looooove my veges!), loads of water, and a little tub of pesto dressing I made up specifically.

Hmm, I find that if at the start of every week, cut up snacks like carrots, celery sticks, snow peas and capsicums, keep them in a air tight container and then during the week, when you're feeling peckish, its all there ready and you don't have to do any prep first! Easy and really nice with salsa or organic peanut butter. You can do the same with berries, fruits and greek yoghurt.
Also for winter, make a pot of vege soup tasty, fills you up and is ultra low in calories!

its good to know that almond milk is probably low carb (read you are a low carber)

    wanna try it more now.

Oh - I saw this topic and I thought you meant, like, industrial-strength staples to keep the fridge door stapled shut.

And I thought, okay, to each his own, but that does seem a bit extreme...

My fridge gets filled up on Thursdays when I get my veg basket from the local farmer. It is always a surprise so I can't rely on pre-planning till I get it. But these items are a must below (all organic btw):

    - eggs
    - cranberry concentrate
    - carrots - NOT baby carrots (that is what i grab when I want to eat junk food)
    - tomatoes
    - goat cheese crumble (each table spoon is 20calories, great for salad or egg meal boosting)
    - local cheese
    - greek yogurt
    - blueberries (because they are in season right now)
    - leafy greens (farm basket)
    - chocolate

    Dairy:
    Skim Milk
    Cottage Cheese
Low fat cheese like sharp cheddar, mozzarella, etc
Eggs/Egg whites(does this go in dairy?? LOL)

    Condiments:
Salad dressings (I don't always go low fat... i really enjoy the olive oil blended with feta cheese I think Kraft makes)
    Mustard
Mayo (I use Hellman's with Olive Oil)
    Ketchup
    BBQ Sauce

Fresh Fruit/Veggies!! Both drawers are full usually unless I slack on the shopping. LOL
Lemons for flavoring water when I feel like plain water isn't good enough.

    Lunch meat

2 Pitchers of filtered water PLUS each person in our house has a large water bottle that gets filled constantly. As soon as it's empty, I refill it with the pitchers of water and then refill the pitchers. That keeps the kids and husband with something to drink without me having to grab glasses each time and that is a reminder to myself to drink up my water.

I keep lemonade made with splenda to satisfy my sweet tooth, pudding made with almond milk (also for the sweet tooth) and pickles are a great crunchy go-to snack with 0 calories. I keep a lot of pickles :)
