When I do my weekly shopping, after I come home, I spend an hour or so washing and preparing my strawberries, pineapple, melon, celery, etc and putting them into containers. They don't stay fresh as long that way, but it doesn't matter much because I grab them first instead of something sweet when I need a snack or something for my lunch at work. The containers are empty within a few days anyway!

    eggs
    lemons/limes (mostly for water)
    bell peppers
    mushrooms
    franks hot suace
    sandwich wraps
    string cheese
    greek yogurt
    apples (pink ladies, pinata)
    celery
    baby carrots
    hummus
slaw mix (just the mix without any dressing, yum on sandwiches)
    pickles
    lettuce and/or baby spinach
    whole milk
    laughing cow cheese
Plus whatever looks good at my favorite produce stand that week.. cantalopes, peaches, watermelon, pears, corn etc.

For meat I just buy whatever is on sale that week and make do with that. If it's less than stellar cuts (like chicken thighs), I just eat a small portion :)

hummus, boiled eggs, V-8 juice, HOT salsa, cream-top whole milk (i skim the cream and make my own half-and-half for coffee - my must-have treat - and use the skim milk for the occasional bowl of cereal, making yogurt, etc), mayo (small quantities for sandwiches, as i can't stand low-fat variations - sometimes i make my own fresh herb mayo, but not often, for the temptation factor), pickles, a water pitcher. other than that, it varies depending on season/my mood, but those things MUST be available at all times :)

I wish I could keep steak in my fridge! I hate the cheapo steaks, but I can only afford good steaks on an occasional basis.

    Hip, hip, horray for steak!

2 Pitchers of filtered water PLUS each person in our house has a large water bottle that gets filled constantly. As soon as it's empty, I refill it with the pitchers of water and then refill the pitchers. That keeps the kids and husband with something to drink without me having to grab glasses each time and that is a reminder to myself to drink up my water.

love this idea, have had to break the habit of using 10 glasses a day, sticking with 1 or 2 now, but this is a good idea.

I keep lemonade made with splenda to satisfy my sweet tooth, pudding made with almond milk (also for the sweet tooth) and pickles are a great crunchy go-to snack with 0 calories. I keep a lot of pickles :)

I had never thought of making pudding with almond milk! Great idea!
