Does anyone here love PBJ as much as i do? would you consider it a "healthy" snack? i eat it on wheat bread and i will use reduced fat peanut butter unless i get it at work but i use regular jelly. i have yet to try the reduced sugar jelly.

i have an obsession with peanut butter and honey on melbatoast. I consider melbatoast to be healthy along with the low fat peanut butter, and the honey is a good sub for sugar.
it helps to fulfil my sweet cravings. in moderation of course
yummm0 -
@vitty...in moderation of course...is once a day acceptable...
I have this uncontrollable love for pb and j...LOL!
maybe instead of looking at pb and j as healthy we should look at the whole day...did we go over sugar, cal, fat, sodium...if not...i think i would call it a healthy day...what do you think?0 -
It's a perfectly acceptable snack/meal. Honestly, I don't bother with reduced fat/sugar for peanut butter or jelly b/c there's just more chemicals added to do that. If you want to try to save a few calories/added sugar, you can use fresh berries or other fruit instead of jelly. I love love love peanut butter in a pita with fresh sliced strawberries or blackberries!0

I'm eating it right now . I love it because it fills me and takes away my craving for something sweet. Also, it's only a 240 calorie lunch.0

Love Peanut Butter. Had me some this morning.0

I LOVE me some PB&J.....what I don't love is the 450 calories that go with it. I have it every now and then though, kind of like a treat. Moderation is the key.0

I LOVE PBJ. I have not given it up at all. I have one for breakfast everyday. Orawheat HealthFull Bread, Skippy Natural Super Chunk, and Polaner Sugar Free with Fiber (the apricot is my favorite). Perfect breakfast.0

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!
One of my favorite sandwiches.0 -
@curvykin78 Have you tried using lowcal bread? Sara Lee 100% Whole Wheat with Honey is only 45 calories. I prefer Great Value 100% Whole Wheat(Walmart brand). It's 50 calories a slice and its $2 cheaper .0

I love love love PBJs, but yeah I hate all the calories. What I do is make my own sugar free jam. If you'd like I can share the recipe. The jam comes out to about 10 calories per sandwich.0

BigAlfrn!......PEA-NUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!!! I normally eat mine on Very Thin White bread so I can keep the cals as low as possible and not cut any of the PB&J from the equation.0

I love it! I'll have a sandwich for breakfast if I have to run somewhere early with no time to eat at home. Once in a while after a really good workout, too. I buy natural pb (Smucker's or Crazy Richard's) and I use regular jelly on whole wheat. I had one on one of those Arnold's bread thins, but it just wasn't the same. I need it on "real" bread!0

No microwave at my office, 45 minutes from home, VERY tight budget . . . I eat PB&J for lunch A LOT. Fortunately, I'm not sick of it yet.
Here's what I use for a 263 calorie PB&J . . .
Sara Lee 45 Calories & Delightful 100% Whole Grain bread - 2 slices, 90 calories
Smart Balance Omega-3 All Natural Rich Roast Peanut Butter - 1.5 Tbsp, 143 calories
Polaner All Fruit with Fiber in various flavors (currently seedless raspberry) - 1 Tbsp, 30 calories
33 Carbs (10 fiber), 13 Fat (mostly the healthy kind), 11 Protein
And it's tasty!0 -

I love peanut butter and Nutella on Whole wheat Bread... YUMMY!0

I just had a PB and J for lunch! I use homemade whole-wheat bread, but regular peanut butter and regular jelly. I'm struggling to eat enough calories to reach my BMR, so I can use all the extra help I can get! But I'm not a huge fan. I don't really use a serving size of peanut butter or a serving size of jelly--I use less. I tried to see what a 2 tbsp serving size of peanut butter was today and it was way too much for me!0

I love it too! I use Ezekial whole grain sprouted bread and 100% natural peanut butter (the kind that only has one ingredient, peanuts) and for jelly I use organic Apple butter, or smuckers Simply Fruit spread. I have found that this satiates my need for sweets and also is only 320 all natural calories. I have it just about every single day.0

Wegman's natural chunky peanut butter is so good!0
