Do apples have the same impact on anyone else? Stomach is always growling BIG TIME about 30 min. after the apple!

I get hungry eating apples too. I usually eat them alongside something else like a piece of toast or something.0

sugar.
Try eating a handful of almonds when you are done. Or put peanut butter on the apple.0 -
Yes...but somehow when I eat other fruits full of sugar I don't get hungry like I do with the apples......sugar.

Interesting... I thought it was just me. Guess not! And I have nothing to contribute here, as I have no clue!0

I literally get hunger pains if I eat an apple on it's own! Totally understand what you're talking about.0

^^This. Plus they are full of fiber so they "move" quickly.0 -
I eat it with peanut butter and I am STUFFED after.0

I am the exact same way! I find that if it cut it into wedges it helps. But if I eat one off the core, I feel hungry.0

I love apples, but if I eat a whole one by itself, I get super jittery and naseous. :frown:0

I always have either a cheese stick or some nut butter with my apples (and most fruit) keeps my blood sugar more level and I get a steady stream of energy instead of a spike & crash.
Also do you eat really sweet apples or granny smiths. The sweeter the apples are the worse the spike&crash was before I started eating them with something.
I try to eat most fruit with some kind of protein. Seems to help.0 -
Apples always make me feel hungry - unless I eat it with a chunk of cheese :bigsmile:0

thank goodness it isnt just me. I have stopped eating apples because of this even though i love the taste of them0

Maybe this will help.... http://bit.ly/NUQ9BW0

Apples are a negative calorie food. You have to eat two. Then a piece of peach pie.0
-
I just had one...I'll let you know in 30 minutes0

This happens to me as well. Along with EPIC belches.0

You have to wrap them in pie crust silly....0

all the trouble started with an apple. that Eve woman started it. apples are cursed. avoid them0

I thought I was the only one! And I only have that issue with apples no other fruit make me feel that way. Strange0
-
I have that issue with carrots0

Apples make me feel the same way, but grapes do too. It makes sense that it would be the sugar content, both are fairly high.0

Same here. When I mentioned it to my doctor, her comment was "hmm, could be allergic to them". It made sense to me as I get the exact same thing from popcorn, and I'm definitely allergic to corn products.0

YES apples have the same effect on me. Eating peanut butter with my apples helps curb that growl. lol 1 Tbls.0 -
I always have some greek yoghurt, an egg or cottage cheese when I have an apple, which stops that from being an issue, but it is usually my bedtime snack anyway.0

Apples have a natural chemical in them called apogen which releases hunger-causing hormones into your bloodstream like little time bombs. To minimize apogen effects, eat the apple with other food.0

Apples are pure carbs, try to eat a fat and/or protein with it. Some peanut butter or a 1/4 cup of almonds makes a big difference0
-
Cause it takes up no space
What I do know is that it pushes me over my sugar count and I'm getting ready to cut them out (14grams of sugar) - SMH0 -
I had an apple and almonds for supper tonight!0
